Meeting with Exxon Mobil’s leadership, President Phuc suggested that the group continue to work with partners and relevant agencies of Vietnam to develop its invested projects, especially in deep-water and high potential areas.

The projects will not only bring about economic benefits to both sides, but also have important strategic significance, serving the common goal of Vietnam and the United States of contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region, he said.

Receiving Next Decade’s CEOs, President Phuc stated that Vietnam prioritises developing the energy industry in a sustainable way toward the goal of maintaining national energy security and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Vietnam wishes to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the US, contributing to the development of harmonious and sustainable trade between the two countries, stressed Phuc.

He welcomed Next Decade’s proposals regarding sustainable economic development, and suggested the firm study the possibility of expanding investment and business cooperation, and providing solutions for reducing CO2 emissions for production and business establishments in Vietnam.

While receiving leaders of Blackrock Inc. President Phuc welcomed the firm’s interest in investing in energy development in Vietnam, and suggested that Blackrock continue working with Binh Son Refinery and Petrochemical Company and relevant agencies of Vietnam to realize this idea.

Knowing that Blackrock has just set up a climate fund to support developing markets in transitioning to clean energy, the President proposed that the US firm study investment prospects in Vietnam, taking into the country’s plans to diversify energy supplies and use renewable energy effectively.
