Prices after Tet remain high

Many food items after Tet remain high compared to ordinary days whilst prices of items at supermarkets are in stability.

At present, prices of some key food items remain high. At markets, retail price of pork side is at VND95,000 per kg, whilst ready-made chicken at VND50,000-55,000 per kg (the fowls raised in industrial way) and VND130,000/kg (the Vietnamese-breeder chicken, beef at VND180,000/kg.

 

Prices at small markets often change.

As usual, the first lunar month is the peak time of vegetarians. Therefore, prices of vegetables are on the rise. Experts said that prices of food items would stabilize after the first lunar month.

Stable prices at supermarkets

Binh Duong Coopmart director Vo Huu Thach, said this is the first year Co.op Mart operates in Binh Duong market, so this mart has a thorough preparation in advance.

Specifically, the Co.op Mart worked with suppliers and producers to well prepare goods in reserve. Besides, this Mart equipped 4 warehouses for reserve. Therefore, prices at this mart are always in stability right in peak time.

Moreover, 4 other businesses of Vinatex, Citimart, Hai Long and Thanh Le ensure commodity supply with stable prices for customers before, during and after Tet.
