Today (November 18), provincial Department of Education and Training (DoET) celebrates the 40th anniversary of Vietnam Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2022). The province's education and training has constantly strived and achieved many remarkable achievements during the past time, contributing to improving the quality of human resources, affirming the position of education and training in the local socio-economic development.

Proud achievement

Those who are interested in the career of education and training have realized the remarkable development of the sector in the past few decades. Possibly seeing that the most obvious change has been since 2011, when the whole sector implemented the Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW of the 11th Party Central Committee on "Radically and fundamentally innovating education and training to meet the requirements of industrialization and modernization in the socialist-oriented market economy and international integration".

Nguyen Thi Nhat Hang, Director of provincial Department of Education and Training (DoET) said that the sector actively implemented the development planning of the education and training sector with projects and plans under the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training, provincial Party Committee and People's Committee over the past time. The highlight of the education and training sector in the renewal period was to improve the quality of the staff, strengthen material facilities and promote information technology in management, teaching and learning. Besides, provincial DoET implemented a project to improve the quality of English teaching and learning at high schools in the period of 2012-2017. On the basis of provincial planning, the province’s education and training sector continuously increased investment and development in all aspects, further carried out the "two- zero" campaign to build up the real learning - real exam practice in the whole sector, realized the goal of training high-quality human resources, contributing to implementing the province's master plan to 2025, turning Binh Duong into a city with development in terms of industrial production, services and sustainable urban agriculture.

In the period of 2011-2021, the province's education and training sector continued receiving strong investment in developing the network of schools and classes at all levels to meet the local development requirements. Up to now, the network of schools, material facilities and advanced teaching equipment has been invested in. Accordingly, the percentage of schools meeting national standards and accrediting education quality has increased. As of July 30, 2022, the whole sector had 731 schools and centers. In addition, there are 128 centers, 8 life skills education facilities and 4 centers to support the development of integrative education.

The implementation of the development of teachers and educational administrators is a breakthrough in the innovation of the province's education and training sector. Since 2011, the sector has set up a project on "Building a contingent of teachers and educational administrators in the period of 2011-2015"; improved the quality of managerial cadres and teachers meeting standard qualifications and above. With pedagogical capacity improved, teachers quickly approached requirements of renovating teaching contents and methods under the general education program in 2018.

Province-based schools have been invested while teachers and managers at all levels have been standardized with the quality of education increasingly improved. Provincial DoET assessed that the whole sector has increased the application of information technology and digital transformation in teaching in the direction of developing students’ capacity; combining a variety of teaching forms towards teaching by topics and developing teaching plans for each subject, paying attention to innovating teaching methods and assessment.

With continuous innovation, through each school year, the quality of education and training is improved. The number of students achieving high results in exams for excellent students and high school graduation exams is increasing. Notably, in 2021, the rate of high school graduates in the province reached 99.31%, Binh Duong ranked first nationwide in terms of the overall average score of graduation subjects. In particular, in the 2021-2022 school year, although being heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, with determination to maintain quality, the province’s education-training sector implemented the motto of "pausing school, not stopping learning", "taking advantage of the golden time" to teach directly. With proactive and flexible solutions, as well as determination and high efforts of the whole sector, most targets for the 2021-2022 school year achieved compared to the set plan. As a result, the rate of students graduating from high schools reached 99.74%, ranking 3rd in the country and first in the southern provinces. There were many subjects such as English, literature, math... surpassing the grade and the average score compared to the previous school year. The province won 34 prizes at the national exam for excellent high school students, an increase of 2 prizes compared to the 2020-2021 school year.

Desire to rise

Teaching is the noblest profession. With the mission of "cultivating people", teachers in the province have put all their efforts, enthusiasm and wisdom, contributing to building the appearance of education in Binh Duong today. Still being not satisfied with what has been achieved, each teacher still has the desire to rise up.

During the past time, education workers in the province constantly strived, overcame difficulties, well completed their tasks, making worthy contributions to the cause of "cultivating people". In the Resolution of the 11th provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure, with the breakthrough content: "Developing and improving the quality of human resources at the requirements of building Binh Duong for sustainable development towards a smart, civilized and modern city" was unanimously identified by the congress as one of four breakthrough programs of provincial Party Committee in the 2020-2025 tenure. On the basis of the breakthrough content in the field of education and training as well as achieving the set goals, the province's education and training sector has set orientations for development in the periods of 2022-2025, 2026-2030, with a vision to 2050.

In the period of 2022-2025, the sector will further implement the Resolution No. 29 of the 11^th Party Central Committee; consolidate, strengthen and develop human resources of Binh Duong’s education and training sector in the period of 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030 in order to ensure sufficient qualified staff to successfully implement the preschool and general education program in 2018, applying digital transformation to teaching and educational management activities; increase the quality of investment in material facilities and teaching equipment. The sector has also set up a plan to effectively implement the Action Program No. 08/CTr-UBND dated October 15, 2021 of provincial People's Committee on the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and the Resolution of the 11^th provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure.

Up to now, the province's education and training sector has had 145 officials, teachers and employees with the title of “Meritorious Teacher. More than 3,600 teachers have received the mementoes "For the cause of education". Those who have been attached to the education and training sector in Song Be - Binh Duong province must be proud of the rich tradition and glorious history of education in the province."
