On the morning of August 27, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control; and the Government's delegation visited and encouraged the Party, government and people of Binh Duong province; at the same time, examined and supervise pandemic prevention and control work in the province. Receiving and working with the delegation were Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

The Prime Minister visited, examined and discussed with medical staff of Provincial field hospital for Covid-19 treatment located at Becamex International Hospital, Thuan An City.

Prime Minister Pham Minh came to examine the treatment of severe Covid-19 patients at Becamex International Hospital, Thuan An City. As a private hospital, but when the Covid-19 broke out, the hospital voluntarily transformed into a field hospital for Covid-19 treatment; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu, Director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital is in charge of Director of Medicine department, directly directs the treatment and care of patients. Currently, the hospital is treating 270 severe and critical patients in the highest layer of treatment stratification for Covid-19 cases in the province.

Talking to the Prime Minister, doctors involved in the treatment at the hospital confirmed that the change of strategy was carried  out to switch from centralized treatment to both concentrated and dispersed treatment right from mild symptomatic or asymptomatic cases, while the upper layers focus on treating severe cases; this was a very correct and successful way in the current context. If treatment is not enhanced at communes and wards, it will cause overload for upper layers. Besides, in order to reduce mortality rate, F0 patients must be detected early, treated remotely, early, and classified from the base. However, communes and wards must have enough oxygen, medicine, and some essential medical equipment.

The Prime Minister acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of medical staff here, including many retired doctors who volunteered to participate in the fight against the pandemic; welcomed the participation of private health care providers in treatment, testing and vaccination. In particular, as hearing the news about three nurses were positive for Covid-19 but still volunteered to stay for treatment and support of other F0 cases, the Prime Minister sent encouragements to these nurses.

The Prime Minister gave gifts to encourage medical staff at the hospital, and hoped that the doctors and nurses would continue to provide professional support to medical staff at grassroots level, and at the same time, always be ready to treat COVID-19 patients and other diseases for the people.

Then the Prime Minister visited a management and treatment zone for F0 patients on the first layer, located at Binh Thuan Primary School, Thuan Giao Ward, Thuan An City. Currently, this facility is treating 412 F0 patients, of which about 30% had mild symptoms, the rest had more severe symptoms. In total, this facility has treated more than 1,200 patients, of which 90% have recovered, 10% were transferred to a higher level due to more severe changes; thus greatly reducing the load on the upper treatment layers. The doctors here said that the strategy of taking communes and wards as fortresses has shown remarkable effectiveness, when bringing medical services closer to the people, in a faster and more friendly manner.

The delegation also went to a lodging house in Binh Chuan ward of Thuan An city, and the Prime Minister continued to check the responsiveness of the hotlines on welfare and healthcare of communes and wards. The Prime Minister asked some residents to call the local phone numbers provided and ask for medical assistance and welfare packages. The residents called for the fourth time before someone picked up the phone. Faced with this situation, the Prime Minister asked local governments to immediately rectify, there must be someone on duty 24/7 to receive calls. It was not a good response when people had to call many times but no one picked up or the hotlines were busy.

The Prime Minister also visited an isolation and treatment zone for F0 patients located at Binh Chuan Primary School, Thuan An City. This facility has collected samples of nearly 1000 F0 cases, of which more than 700 people have recovered and returned home. Talking to doctors here, the Prime Minister reiterated his requirement that medical care must come to the people as quickly as possible.

At Saigon STEC Company in Hoa Phu ward, Thu Dau Mot city, which is currently implementing the "three-on-site" model with 2,000 beds for workers, the Prime Minister directly examined the factory and production lines of electronic equipment. Many workers said that they supported the "three-on-site" model, although it was a bit inconvenient, but it could ensure the production and supply chain, ensure income and safety of ...
