To create a breakthrough in service development, the provincial People’s Committee issued a program of service development for the 2011-2015 period with crucial goals.
Foundation
In the 2006-2010 period, local service sector developed in the right way and reached basic goals for the local socio-economic development. The service sector showed positive changes of local economic structure. Specifically, the sector’s GDP increase reached 32.6% in 2010.
Numerous tourists visit Dai Nam Van Hien Paradise.
Trade development has witnessed across localities, markets, supermarkets. Countless potential items of footwear, garment, ceramics, timber processing… have been spurred. Brain content in export value has been improved.
The fields of restaurant and tourism have been boosted up investment capital. Some important locations of Dai Nam Van Hien Paradise, Sai Gon tourism village, Iron Triangle Relic, Mat Xanh resort, Mekong eco-tourism area… have been under operation. Meanwhile, transport has showed strong development, meeting demand on transport, logistics…
Other services of agricultural promotion, veterinary, health, sport, education-training… have met demand in the new period. Post-telecom system, banking, finance have boomed in quality and quantity. Therefore, local residents’ life has been improved sharply.
In terms of space, service sector has developed in conformity with local orientation of giving priorities for service development in the Southern region.
Service will account for a 38% density in 2015
The program of service development for the 2011-2015 period is to develop service fields with high brain content and strive to reach GDP density of service at 38% in 2015.
To win the goals, concrete tasks for some fields have been set out. The province will complete works of markets, supermarkets, trade centers across areas. In export industry, the locality will spur industries with high competition and potential as well as increase rate of materials produced domestically up to 30% from 2010. Till 2015, the locality will strive to reach an export turnover of about US$20bil.
Transport service and logistics will have new planning to ensure traffic safety. Other areas of environment, banking finance, sport, health, tech-science… also have concrete tasks and goals to launch synchronously.
Key areas of Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An, Di An towns, Ben Cat, Tan Uyen, Thanh Phuoc port and the HCMC National University will be given priorities for development.
