According to a report of the Department of Planning and Investment, the province attracted USD 967.3 million of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first 6 months of 2023, of which, 45 projects have been granted new investment registration certificates. The total registered capital is nearly USD 361 million with 22 turns of projects registered to increase investment capital. The total additional registered capital reaches more than USD 60.5 million which is 70 times of capital contribution and share purchase from foreign investors. The total value of contributed capital reaches over USD 545 million. Accumulated up to now, Binh Duong ranks second in the country in terms of attracting foreign investment capital after Ho Chi Minh city with a total registered investment capital of over USD 40 billion, accounting for about 9% of the total investment capital of the country.
By investment sector, foreign investors have invested in 10 of which, real estate business ranks first with a total capital of nearly USD 477 million, accounting for 49.35% of total registered investment capital. The manufacturing and processing industry ranked second with a total investment capital of over USD 452 million, accounting for 46.81% of the total registered investment capital.
