 The province’s program on fast and development for industrial manufacture between 2006 and 2010 reaped many positive results, creating a solid foundation for its next development period.  The province absorbed many industries with big added value and strong competitiveness in the 2006 and 2010 period

 Industrial manufacture on rise

 Under its program on fast and development for industrial manufacture between 2006 and 2010, Binh Duong reached an average growth rate of 19.9% in industrial production value.

 According to provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the garment, footwear, plastic, mechanism, chemistry, processing industries accounted for a high proportion of the local industrial structure during the 2006 and 2010 period.

 The whole province also absorbed 6,399 investment projects, including 5,553 domestic investment projects with total registered capital of VND44.99bln and 846 foreign investment ones with total registered capital of US$7.3bln. As of late 2010, there were 10,181 foreign and domestic investment projects flowing into the province with VND87,508bln and US$13.676mln.

 Noticeably, many great economic corporations with spearheading and strategies industries like Uni-President Vietnam Co.Ltd., Chanh Duong Paper Co.Ltd., Kaiser Wood Joint Stock Co.,…were present in Binh Duong

 Paying attention to training human resources

 Under the above program, the province paid attention to training and developing human resources during the 2006 and 2010 period.

 The whole province is now home to 41 vocational training facilities, up 11 compared to 2006. Between 2006 and 2010, there were 88,640 laborers getting trained, nearly 90% of whom have sought stable jobs after graduation.

 Along with vocational training, the province attached special importance to the housing issue for laborers The whole province, as of late 2010, was home to around 717,850 laborers, including 602,403 immigrant ones with 90% of them in need of housing.

 There are now 260 province-based businesses building tenement houses for laborers, including Binh Duong Garment One-Member Co.Ltd., Truong Thanh Woodwork Corporation, Thai Binh Shoes Group, Phuoc Du Long Co.Ltd., Ta Tung Vietnam Co.Ltd., Kondo Textile Co.Ltd., CF Vina Co.Ltd., Acecook Vietnam Co.,…

 The whole province has also 18,522 households getting involved in lodging business, contributing to supplying accommodations for more than 500,000 laborers.

 Promoting sustainable development

 For the program getting better results, according to provincial People’s Committee Chairman Le Thanh Cung, the province needs to promote the fast and sustainable development of hi-tech industries, which is closely linked to environmental protection; form up hi-tech industrial parks in a synchronous way; further improve investment climate; raise laborers’ lives…

 Also according to Mr.Cung, the province needs to encourage businesses to promote provincial Scientific-Technological Development Fund; ensure power supply for industrial development, especially hi-tech industries; call for economic classes to get involved in training human resources at industries’ requirements; map out investment promotion programs towards great corporations with high technologies…
