Local people are of high expectation for the upcoming session of Provincial People’s Council in its 8th tenure to resolve issues of food sanitation and safety, disease outbreaks, traffic accidents, environment pollution, sluggish project planning and site clearance, idle retrieved land, etc. To eliminate idle planning Stating the same old issue, Mr. Nguyen Van Du from Ben Don Hamlet of Hoa Loi Commune in Ben Cat District pointed out the issues of Dong An 2 Industrial Park Planning which has lasted for 10 years without any progress. For so many times, local people have expressed their concerns regarding the planning; however, everything has been staying put. Local people’s life was hindered by such planning because they have been banned from upgrading or repairing their houses which should be following the planning progress. But now, everything is idle. Patients should be better treated “I need the official answers for we have waited for so long,” said Du. The same story seemed to be exist in many other projects complained by local people for their wastefulness of land, time and people’s freedom to repair their own houses. Thus, majority of the local people have proposed to Provincial People’s Committee to review the projects and take actions of adjusting feasible projects and revoking infeasible and prolonged projects to ensure public benefits. Besides, local people are complaining about incomplete of investors in apartment projects, haunting their normal living conditions. Thus, they have proposed to force those investors to boost up their building progress. Mr. Phan Van Sang from Tan Hung Commune of Ben Cat District called for resolutions to the above issues with responsibility review against contractors, especially contractor supervisors who have caused great loss to budget allocation for the construction quality has not been ensured. Punishment should be strict to undermine future breaches. Local people have also stated issues in hospitals and clinics which have charged higher fees but offered lower services. Among other issues was general electro-meter elimination, illegal mineral exploitation, allowances to local officers, wastefulness of vocational colleges, etc. Majority of local people are looking forward to solutions. To improve PCI Regarding the socio-economic development, local people have entrusted and highly evaluated efforts of Provincial People’s Committee in managing and operating measures to stick to economic targets and maintain reasonable grow as well as controlling inflation and removing obstacles barring production and businesses. Accordingly, production has been gradually been recovered while social and political security, social order and safety have been maintained. However, local people have been more concerned about Provincial Competition Index (PCI) of Binh Duong Province which has been declining. At the upcoming session, the plenum of Provincial People’s Council shall proceed with trust poll which is decided by solutions to the matters of public concern.
