Promote brand and attract investment effectively

To elevate the position of Binh Duong

Within the framework of the 2024 Horasis China Meeting, enterprises and investors recognized Binh Duong as a dynamic and creative locality. Urs Unkauf, Executive Director of the German Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade (BWA), said he was very impressed with the dynamic development of Binh Duong. This year’s Horasis meeting will create better connections between Vietnamese enterprises and German enterprises, opening up many cooperation opportunities in accordance with the strategies and development orientations of the parties.

Many years ago, Binh Duong soon realized that promoting on-site investment to let foreign investors evaluate the development and investment environment of the province is the most effective way. Therefore, after five successful organizations of Horasis meeting, Binh Duong has become a gathering place for potential investors. This is also the way Binh Duong invites guests to its home, turning this locality into a regional investment attraction center.

Frank Jurgen Richter, Chairman and founder of Horasis, said Binh Duong is one of the most dynamic localities in Vietnam. Binh Duong has established bilateral cooperative relations with 13 foreign provinces and cities, and is an official member of international organizations, such as the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), the Horasis, and the World Trade Center Association (WTCA)... have helped Binh Duong become known as an ideal destination for regional and global investors. Dynamic and effective foreign economic activities have contributed to attracting more and more foreign investment projects into Binh Duong. Cumulatively up to now, the whole province has attracted 4,226 investment projects from 65 countries and territories with a total registered capital of more than US$40.6 billion. Binh Duong is gradually moving to attract high-quality investment capital. Notably, many European investors, including Denmark, the Netherlands, Australia, France, Germany etc. are choosing Binh Duong as their production base.

Promote new investment and cooperation

According to Mai Hung Dung, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, continuously being chosen to host the Horasis meetings has helped Binh Duong have opportunities to expand international cooperation relationships; At the same time, these are good conditions for Binh Duong to realize comprehensive socio-economic development plans, promote new investment and cooperation.

At Horasis 2018, Becamex IDC signed a very important memorandum of understanding and cooperation with Singapore and Spain partners. Horasis 2019, Becamex IDC signed a cooperation agreement with the National University of Singapore (NUS) to develop the BLOCK71 SAIGON innovation and startup ecosystem, and announced the Binh Duong New City World Trade Center project. At Horasis India 2022, Becamex IDC and the Indian Business Federation signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in information technology, healthcare, electronics, innovation projects and sustainable development. At Horasis Asia Meeting 2023, Becamex IDC and TÜV SÜD Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd, VSIP and EIU signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a cooperative relationship to accelerate the application process of industry 4.0 technologies in Vietnam and Binh Duong.

Within the framework of the 2024 Horasis China Meeting, many cooperation agreements have also taken place. In particular, Becamex IDC signed a memorandum of understanding with Sunwah Group, collaborating in many fields, focusing on innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable development towards Net Zero. At the meeting, Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee handed over a cooperation agreement between the Provincial People's Committee and Viettel Post Joint Stock Corporation to develop logistics infrastructure, e-commerce, and form an international logistics center in Binh Duong.

Sharing about investment cooperation opportunities in Binh Duong, Dr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group, said he realized that Binh Duong is on the verge of developing into an international industrial city. Binh Duong is also strengthening the digital and green economy. “That is why we signed a memorandum of cooperation with Becamex IDC to develop electric vehicles, energy storage devices and many other products. Sunwah Group will also cooperate strategically with Binh Duong and Becamex IDC to transform the development of industrial parks in a green, smart, and sustainable direction," Dr. Jonathan Choi said.

According to Dung, the Horasis China Meeting 2024 continues to be an opportunity for organizations in Binh Duong and Vietnam to access new knowledge and vision. This is also an opportunity for provincial leaders as well as business leaders to exchange and connect with a network of regional and global business leaders. From there, to improve the ability to find new opportunities and partners, jointly develop management capacity, science and technology level, promote trade, and attract investment.
