On June 26, the provincial Fatherland Front Committee solemnly opened the 8th provincial Fatherland Front Deputies congress for the 2014-2019 tenure with the theme of “Promoting great national unity strength, improving role and position of Vietnam Fatherland Front, developing Binh Duong into civilized and modern locality”.

The congress took place in the context of ratified new constitution, affirming Vietnam Fatherland Front as voluntary political coalition of political organizations, socio-political organizations, social organizations and individuals from all classes. Addressing the congress’ opening ceremony, the provincial Fatherland Front Committee chairman Huynh Van Nhi stressed aside from objective assessment of the provincial great national unity bloc and result of action plan in the past term, the congress includes important tasks of voting prestigious and typical individuals for the 8th provincial Fatherland Front Committee, 2014-2019 term, ensuring significance to meet requirements in the new period, contributing to improve role and position of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee for the sake of developing Binh Duong into a prosperous, civilized and modern city.

 

On the first working day, participants heard about draft reports of the congress, ideas and petitions of adjusting Vietnam Fatherland Front regulations. Particularly, the congress spent most of time to learn about review report of the 7th provincial Fatherland Front Committee (2009-2014 term). Reportedly, over the past 5 years, the provincial Fatherland Front Committee concretized action plans set out by the 7th provincial Fatherland Front Committee congress. In addition, the provincial Fatherland Front Committee instructed all level fronts to spur, expand the great national unity bloc, diversify forms of gathering people, focus on gathering laborers, intellectuals, increasing members from typical and prestigious individuals, entrepreneurs and religious dignitaries. At present, 100% of commune-level Fatherland Front Committee have had 2 vice chairmen.

 

The provincial Fatherland Front Committee continues to maintain and improve quality of big mobilizations such as “All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas”, “Day for the poor” and “Vietnamese gives priorities to using Vietnamese goods”. Many movements and self-control models built by people are expanded. These movements consist of All people protect national defense and security, control of drug, prostitution and HIV/AIDS, environmental hygiene and so on, bringing significant efficiency and reaching great response from local people.

 

Many ideas of people show up responsibility and enthusiasm for the Party organization, party members and their trust and duty in building the Party and people’s authority. Moreover, implementing grassroot democratic regulations was paid much attention while collecting confident ballots in 2009, 2010 for positions elected by the provincial People’s Council deputies was implemented seriously.

 

Achievements of the 2009-2014 tenure provincial Fatherland Front Committee were thanks to attention from the provincial party committee and close instruction of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee’s standing commission, cooperation of local People’s Council and People’s Committee and sectors and agencies at all levels.

 

Especially, hi-unity of people, agencies, units and businesses contributed greatly to the provincial Fatherland Front Committee’s success. Acknowledging the highlighted results of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the State President, Central Fatherland Front Committee, provincial People’s Committee conferred the first class Labor Order, merit certificates to collectives and individuals of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

 

Also on the first working day, the congress’ deputies focused on highlighting results and shortcomings in gathering the public and building movements and so on. The congress also held a negotiation of voting members for the 8th provincial Fatherland Front Committee, 2014-2019 tenure and selecting deputies for attending in the national Fatherland Front Committee congress. In the afternoon of June 26, the provincial Fatherland Front Committee members convened the first meeting to elect chairman, vice chairmen and members.

 

Today of June 27, the 8th congress of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee, 2014-2019 tenure continues the second working day. Apart from procedures, the congress will ratify result reports of implementing the 7th congress’ action plans and draft action plans of the 8th congress as well as ratify the congress’ resolutions.
