Promoting Ho Chi Minh's ideology through concrete actions, building a modern and affectionate Binh Duong

Tuesday, 20/05/2025

The period from 2016 to 2025 marks ten years of implementing Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo. During this time, the entire Party Committee, government, and people of Binh Duong have worked tirelessly to spread the ideology, morality, and style of Ho Chi Minh. This has become a guiding principle for all actions. The upcoming 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) presents an opportunity to reflect on this meaningful journey with pride and renewed determination, which is to ensure that learning from and following Uncle Ho's teachings becomes deeply ingrained in our daily actions and behaviors across all areas of social life.

Deep political life

Over the past decade, the implementation of Directive 05 has become a significant political practice across the entire political system of the province. The study and following of Uncle Ho have evolved beyond regular meetings and superficial gestures; they have truly taken root as criteria for evaluating officials, guiding workplace conduct, influencing lifestyles, and shaping public ethics and daily behaviors. Each cadre and party member learns from Uncle Ho through the simplest actions, such as adopting a scientific working style, maintaining close connections with the people, ensuring that words align with actions, demonstrating dedication to serving the public, and showing courage in innovation and decisiveness in action. As a result, numerous creative and practical models of "following Uncle Ho" have been developed and replicated.

Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, awards certificates of merit from the Provincial Party Committee to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to studying and following Uncle Ho.

In Thu Dau Mot City, the "Morning Coffee and Exchange with the People" program has become a familiar meeting place for government officials and citizens. It fosters an environment of closeness between leaders and the community, where concerns and issues are addressed directly at the grassroots level. In areas such as Ben Cat City, Bau Bang District, and Dau Tieng District, the model of "Being Close to the People" has been cleverly integrated into social security activities. This includes assisting low-income households and ensuring that administrative procedures are handled swiftly and transparently. This approach not only represents a creative way of operating but also serves as a living testament to the spirit of "serving the people," which President Ho Chi Minh always emphasized. Consequently, the trust that the people have in the Party and the local government continues to grow stronger and more enduring.

“Office smile” and action from the heart

Learning from Ho Chi Minh's approach—specifically his commitment to being close to the people, respecting them, and serving their needs—numerous agencies and units in the province have integrated these principles into their administrative reform efforts and improvements in public service ethics. The concepts of “office smiles” and a “friendly government” have evolved from mere slogans into genuine attitudes and behavioral standards for officials and civil servants. Each process related to receiving and processing documents has been enhanced, with administrative departments aiming to reduce hassles, increase transparency, and utilize modern technology to better serve the public in a quicker and more convenient manner.

Studying and embodying Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style is a lifelong commitment and serves as the foundation for building a clean and strong Party. This commitment also acts as a driving force to transform Binh Duong into a modern, civilized, prosperous, and beautiful region—where people live well and work efficiently; where every official and party member prioritizes the interests of the people above all else. The ten-year journey of implementing Directive 05 has been one of innovation, creativity, and dedication. This journey provides a solid foundation for Binh Duong to continue deepening its study and practice of Uncle Ho's teachings, closely linked to every political task, specific job, and meaningful example within the community in the future.

Listening to the people, addressing challenges faced by businesses, and supporting workers all stem from a shared belief: that public satisfaction is the ultimate measure of work efficiency. With this mindset, many new initiatives, models, and approaches have emerged, contributing to the establishment of a professional, people-friendly, and humane work environment. As a result, Binh Duong is increasingly recognized as a bright spot in administrative reform, attracting investments, and promoting sustainable development.

Shining mirrors

The spirit of learning and following Uncle Ho has been clearly demonstrated over the past 10 years through countless examples of good people and good deeds—beautiful contributions that enrich daily life. From various emulation movements aimed at studying and following Uncle Ho, the province has honored more than 14,500 exemplary collectives and individuals. They exemplify the idea that learning from Uncle Ho doesn't require grand gestures, but instead can stem from simple, practical actions taken every day.

Mr. Mai Song Be, a member of the Thanh Hiep Hamlet’s Party Cell in Thanh Hoi Commune, Tan Uyen City, chose to follow Uncle Ho through quiet contributions. He mobilized the community to plant 500 trees valued at 60 million VND along a main road of the hamlet. He also opened "Cu Lao Rua" book library in his home, featuring over 10,000 books that serve thousands of readers, and initiated the "1,000 VND Vegetable ATM" model. Additionally, he personally printed 40 ceramic maps of Vietnam’s seas and islands, displaying them along a road leading to the commune, transforming this path into a "Map Road"—a place reminding every Vietnamese child of the sacred sovereignty over our sea and islands. Mr. Be expressed, “Learning from Uncle Ho isn’t about doing something monumental, but about living decently every day and being responsible to the community, the country, and oneself.”

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Quyen, a civil servant in Hoa Loi Ward, Ben Cat City, initiated models such as "No Appointment Day" and "Registering and Returning Death Certificates at Home." These initiatives aim to streamline administrative processes and help people navigate difficult and sorrowful times with less stress. Such small actions reflect a commitment to dedicated service and prioritize the needs of the people, thereby strengthening trust between the community and the government.

Examples like Mr. Be, Ms. Quyen, and thousands of other officials, party members, workers, farmers, and intellectuals across the province continue to illustrate the beautiful story of learning from and following Uncle Ho in everyday life. They represent "real people doing real work," significantly contributing to the dissemination of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style through concrete actions and a meaningful, responsible lifestyle.
