Prospects for growing safe vegetable in province

Pham Van Rong, deputy head of provincial Plant Protection Department made the statement after his periodical inspection tour to the safe vegetable-growing group in Ben Cat district’s Tan Dinh commune. Currently, this area has nearly 40 households getting involved in the safe vegetable-growing model with a total farming land of 5 ha and it is expected to be expanded to 6.8 ha.

Thanks to many reasons, the profit of these households last Tet was double compared to normal days. It is expected that the province’s agriculture and rural development sector will have close cooperation with supermarkets, restaurants…to ensure stability about consumption market for the local farmers growing safe vegetable.

It is known that Ben Cat district’s Tan Dinh commune and Tan Uyen district’s Uyen Hung township are two localities selected as the key places to realize the safe vegetable growing project between 2010 and 2012 under the decision of provincial People’s Committee. The 60-ha project has a total investment capital of more than VND5.8bln.
