More than 40 Vietnamese doctors and nurses gave free medical check-ups to Cambodians and those of Vietnamese origin in Koh Kong province on March 29-30.
They provided check-ups and medicines for more than 1,000 patients suffering from eye, bone and other diseases, as well as giving advice on reproductive health care.
Nguyen Kim Hoan, said poor people like her do not have a chance to go to a hospital for medical services so they look forward to receiving assistance of Vietnamese doctors and nurses.
Pen Bun Chhuoi, a local official, appreciated Vietnamese doctors’ charity programmes that have benefitted thousands of poor people, helping reduce poverty in the province.
Vietnamese doctors and nurses have been providing needy people, including 1,500 Vietnamese, in Koh Kong province, with free medical checks-up, medicines and treatment for the past three years.
Their trips are organized by the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Koh Kong and sponsored by Vietnamese businesses ad philanthropists.
