Province continues effectively implementing strategic breakthroughs

At the session, delegates focused on discussing, analyzing and evaluating the results of implementing socio-economic development tasks, ensuring national defense-security and Party building and political system building in the first quarter; key orientations and tasks in the second quarter of 2024.

Many targets increasing quite well

The draft report on socio-economic situation, national defense - security, Party building and political system building in the first quarter; key orientations and tasks of the second quarter of 2024 showed that right from the beginning of 2024, provincial Party Standing Committee has focused on directing the serious implementation of the plans on socio-economic development, Party building, political system building in all fields.

In the first quarter of 2024, the province’s industrial production index was estimated at increasing by 3.87% over the same period last year. The province’s total retail sales revenue of goods and services was estimated at reaching more than VND 81.17 trillion, an increase of 12.52% over the same period last year. Import and export activities of goods showed positive signs and new orders increased in the wood processing, machinery and equipment, footwear and garment-textile industries. The province’s export turnover reached more than US$7.99 billion, up 16.2% over the same period last year. The province’s import value was more than US$ 5.4 billion, up 6.3% over the same period. The province’s State budget revenue was estimated at more than VND 18.82 trillion, reaching 29% of the estimate assigned by the Prime Minister and 26% of the estimate of provincial People's Council. The province’s total social development investment capital was estimated at more than VND 31.42 trillion, an increase of 5.9% over the same period. The province attracted US$ 158.3 million in FDI capital and more than VND 14.06 trillion in domestic investment capital, an increase of 30.4% over the same period. So far, the whole province has had 67,299 domestic projects with VND741 trillion and 4,255 FDI projects capitalized at US$ US$40.54 billion.

In the first quarter, the province focused on speeding up the construction progress of bidding packages of component projects 5 and 6 of the belt road 3 in Ho Chi Minh city; continued coordinating with relevant units to deploy investment procedures for the belt roads 3, 4 of Ho Chi Minh city, Ho Chi Minh city - Chon Thanh expressway, An Tay port. The province approved the investment policy of 3 new projects with a scale of over 56 hectares and adjusted the investment policy of 5 real estate projects; received contributive ideas from the Central Appraisal Council to complete the planning of Binh Duong province for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 as well as approving the construction planning of Dau Tieng district and the adjustment of the overall master plan of Tan Uyen city until 2040; the local adjustment to the general planning of Thu Dau Mot city; completed a draft resolution on upgrading the essential technical infrastructure of residential areas in urban and rural areas by 2030...

At the session, delegates focused on discussing, analyzing and clarifying the results done, the causes of shortcomings and proposing solutions in the coming time, especially in the fields of construction investment for key projects, including the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 13 and belt road 3 of Ho Chi Minh city; Bach Dang 2 bridge, Binh Goi bridge; State budget revenue and expenditure, investment attraction; maintenance of security and order in the area...

Concluding the session, comrade Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation highly appreciated the efforts by all-level authorities, sectors and units in implementing tasks on socio-economic development, ensuring national defense-security and building the Party and political system in the first 3 months of 2024, with quite comprehensive results. Many fields on export turnover, State budget revenue, disbursement of public investment capital saw positive changes...

Regarding some key tasks in the second quarter and the coming time, he requested all-level authorities and sectors to continue effectively implementing 3 breakthroughs in policy, infrastructure and human resources. Particularly, some policies include a policy on relocating enterprises outside industrial parks from the South to the North of the province; a policy on high technology; a policy on eco-industrial park standards; a policy on supporting enterprises under central regulations... These policies will impact the province's socio-economic development in the coming time. "In the near future, provincial Party Standing Committee will hear reports on the content of each policy from the Civil Affairs Committee of provincial People's Committee and functional agencies...", said he.

Regarding the infrastructure breakthrough, Mr.Loi said that the province is implementing the belt road 3 project of Ho Chi Minh city and will soon start construction on the belt road 4 of Ho Chi Minh city, Ho Chi Minh city- Chon Thanh expressway and intra-regional transport infrastructure projects. This is an extremely important task in implementing a breakthrough in infrastructure, especially connected intra-regional traffic systems while developing educational infrastructure and medical infrastructure...Regarding human resource breakthroughs, he emphasized a policy on attracting and training human resources in the fields of education, health, culture-sports...while further implementing cooperation between schools, State and enterprises to train and retrain human resources.

He emphasized that in order to effectively implement the set goals and tasks in the second quarter and the whole year, it is necessary to enhance the responsibility of the heads of each level and each sector. The Party does not make excuses, but also does not relax its leadership. All-level authorities and sectors of the province must create solidarity and share responsibilities for common benefits, building up a strong collective to carry out the set goals and tasks.
