Update: 11-06-2021 | 11:43:12

In order to curb Covid-19 pandemic soon, Binh Duong has established checkpoints at the gateways to it; organize body temperature checks and make mandatory medical declarations for people entering it, especially those from pandemic-hit localities. The province has drastically taken solutions against the pandemic, but not to "block transport, ban trade”, negatively affecting people's lives, enterprises ‘production and business activities.

Further consolidating, opening more quarantine checkpoints at gateways

Under the plan, the province has arranged 3 checkpoints on arterial streets, namely National Highway 13 from Ho Chi Minh City to Binh Duong, My Phuoc - Tan Van expressway  from Dong Nai to Binh Duong, National Highway 1K from Ho Chi Minh City to Binh Duong. Provincial Police Agency has been ordered to coordinate with localities and functional units to determine the location for checkpoints.

Functional forces check the body temperature of people entering the province from other localities through the gateway of Phu Cuong bridge in Thu Dau Mot city

The task of the forces is to check the movement of people and vehicles into Binh Duong; make medical quarantine for people moving into the province; inspect the implementation of personal protection measures, Covid-19 prevention and control under the guidance of the health sector; thereby jointly handling cases violating rules on COVID-19 prevention and control as well as violations related to regulations in the field of traffic.

Early June 10, Thu Dau Mot city set up a checkpoint at the junction of Huynh Van Cu - Nguyen Van Cu streets near the toll station of Phu Cuong bridge. After setting up the checkpoint, the forces coordinated synchronously, carried out medical checks and mandatory medical declarations for people and vehicles entering and leaving the city's gateway via Phu Cuong bridge. The synchronous coordination between the forces has contributed to making the control and screening of suspected patients entering and leaving through the Phu Cuong bridge gate tighter. Lieutenant Colonel Ha Thanh Long, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Team under Thu Dau Mot city’s Police Agency said that after establishing the checkpoint at Phu Cuong bridge, the forces have jointly ensured medical examination for cases entering the province while ensuring not to cause traffic jams on the route.

At the checkpoint of Tan Uyen town, Lieutenant Nguyen Thanh Tam, from the town’s Traffic Police Team said that after many days of organizing the checkpoint, the forces have had good coordination in carrying out their duties. People and drivers are also familiar with and agree with medical examination, declaration. Nguyen Van Tai, who lives in Tan Uyen town’s Thai Hoa ward said that these days, people like him are used to stopping vehicles for quarantine and medical declaration procedures. He said that everyone must join hands with the local  authorities at all levels to soon control and prevent the pandemic, but first of all, people need to strictly comply with the regulations and guidelines on Covid-19 prevention and control from the local  authorities at all levels.

Meanwhile, Ho Xuan Ly, who lives in Thai Hoa ward, said he felt very secure when there were quarantine checkpoints on the entrance to the town. Every day, functional forces conduct inspection and guide people to make medical declarations, which will help detect and prevent the source of infection from cases returning from pandemic-hit areas.

Not to “block transport, ban trade”

In the spirit of drastically implementing measures against the pandemic, provincial People's Committee affirmed that stabilizing people's lives is important. Therefore, when implementing measures against the pandemic, localities must ensure control over the source of infection, but not “block transport, ban trade”, negatively affecting people's lives, enterprises’ production and business activities.

Provincial People's Committee has also required localities and units not to impose more administrative management measures, restricting essential activities related to the people, thus inhibiting the local socio-economic activities while upholding the role of community-based anti-Covid-19 teams, strictly controlling the movement of people in order to promptly detect organizations and individuals violating regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control to report them to functional agencies for settlement as stipulated.

Provincial People's Committee has just issued an official dispatch requesting localities not to be subjective, negligent, and lose vigilance in Covid-19 prevention and control; further strengthen propaganda among people by practical and appropriate contents so that they can raise their initiative and sense of responsibility in implementing measures against the pandemic, protecting themselves and the community.

The official dispatch has also required units to make mandatory medical declarations for cadres, civil servants and workers from pandemic-hit areas; carried out medical isolation for those from pandemic-hit areas as stipulated. In addition, localities and units need to actively promote propaganda on Covid-19 prevention and control among people, requesting them to strictly follow the "5K" message of the Ministry of Health, especially wear face masks in public places; regularly strengthen inspection and supervision and strictly handle cases not complying the regulations.
