Province further gains stable socio-economic growth

Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee yesterday morning presided over a meeting to approve the local report on socio-economic development, national defence-security over the past nine months and implement main tasks for the rest of the year.

Economic fields at high growth

According to a report by provincial People’s Committee, the province’s industrial activities over the past nine months continued reaching stability with the index of industrial production (IIP) surging 8.92% compared to last year’s same period. The province also upheld the efficiency of realizing the Government’s solutions to remove difficulties, promoting production and business while regularly organizing dialogues with enterprises and industries’ associations, facilitating their development. Upon these, province-based enterprises continued working advantageously.

The province’s total retail sales of commodities and services reached VND105trillion, a year-on-year increase of 2015. The province’s price stabilization program for essential commodities, including learning tools was implemented very effectively. The province also well controlled over the prices of essential commodities and attached special importance to market control work. Over the past nine months, the province’s inter-sectoral inspection squads made inspection tours of 2,663 facilities, discovered and settled 890 wrong cases.

Also during the period, the province’s export turnover reached US$16.3billion, up 16.2% while import value was US$12.9billion, up 16.1% against last year’s same period. The province’s main export markets continued being maintained and reaching stable development.

The province’s agricultural production continued developing stably with the total annual cultivation area of 21,961 hectares. Regarding animal husbandry, the province continued reaching good results. The province also continued implementing 4 hi-tech agricultural parks. Meanwhile, many effective models on cultivation and animal husbandry were promoted among locals.

Over the past nine months, most of the province’s main economic targets obtained growth in comparison with last year’s same period, in which some targets completed the yearly plan. Noticeably, the province continued reaching trade surplus. The province’s socio-economic infrastructure system was built in a synchronous way in association with the effective realization of the Government’s Resolution No.19-2016/NQ-CP and Resolution No.35/NQ-CP, thereby creating positive results in investment attraction.

Solutions implemented in a synchronous way

Along with achievements done over the past nine months, the province’s socio-economic situation still faced difficulties from basic construction, weather, social welfare, farm produce price…for change.

For the rest of the year, provincial People’s Committee will uphold results done and urgently improve shortcomings. The province will promote disbursement of public investment capital under the Government’s Resolution No.60/NQ-CP dated July 8, 2016; adjust, harmonize basic construction capital; put focus on site clearance and compensation, work out projects, especially ones against traffic jam; continue researching and well applying Prime Minister’s Decision No.23/2015/QD-TTg on infrastructure construction and settlement for social welfare issues; ask for sectors, departments and localities to be proactive in administration work to well realize the set targets.

The province will also further attach special importance to State budget management; absolutely save outgoings, ensuring 2016’s budget estimates. Especially, the province will beef up restructuring of State-run enterprises and enhance their efficiency; have close instruction on capital withdrawal and equitization of State-run enterprises as planned.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr.Liem emphasized that the local sectors and authorities at all levels need to recheck and mobilize all resources for urban development, ensuring the roadmap of upgrading Binh Duong into a first-class city by 2020; especially recheck and have solutions for queries in the process of realizing residential projects. Relevant agencies also need to set up plans to stockpile Tet goods, take care of the poor, workers and ensure social welfare at year end…

Over the past nine months, the whole province spent nearly VND630billion on taking care of social policy beneficiaries; built and upgraded 16 gratitude houses with a total expense of approximately VND1.6billion. Provincial People’s Committee also instructed relevant agencies to link with enterprises to generate jobs for more than 41,000 laborers. Provincial Job Placement Center organized 15 job transaction sessions; made job consultancy and introduction for more than 74,000 laborers. Province-based vocational schools enrolled more than 21,600 learners and opened vocational training courses for nearly 1,280 rural laborers…

For public healthcare, the province’s healthcare sector provided medical examination for around 3.9million patients and inpatient treatment for around 773,000 patients. The province also well realized preventive health work, ensured food safety and hygiene…
