Province makes efforts in bird-flu vaccination

Thanks to vaccination work well implemented, there has been no report on bird flu across the province in recent years.

 

Good preparations for 1st vaccination campaign of 2010

 

Localites and sectors in the province have made good preparations for the first bird flu vaccination campaign of 2010, beginning from April 2. According to provincial Animal Health Department, the vaccination campaign will provide around 750,000 doses of H5N1 vaccine and H5N2 for breeding facilities. Ta Trong Khang, department deputy head said: “…Since early this year, we have made important preparations for the vaccination campaign. With the current implementation process, the vaccination campaign is likely to be completed earlier than planned and ensure the set targets.

 

 

Awareness among breeders on vaccination work has been raised.

 

So far, the whole province has had more than 760,000 fowls vaccinated, or 82% of total. Among localities, Di An district has fulfilled its vaccination plan while Ben Cat, Thuan An, Dau Tieng have been taking quick steps in realizing the vaccination campaign.

 

Overcoming obstacles to fulfill plan

 

According to Mr.Ta Trong Khang, provincial Animal Health Department has been so determined to overcome difficulties to fulfill the vaccination campaign.

Besides of difficulties, there are lots of advantages in the vaccination campaign. Weather has been very favorable since the beginning of the vaccination campaign. The local breeders’ awareness of bird-flu vaccination has also been raised while  the organization of the vaccination campaign has seen more improvement.

 

In addition to the vaccination work, the local veteran stations have regularly maintained control over the slaughter and transport of poultry and disinfection at breeding facilities.
