Province needs to attach special importance to training human resources for economic development

Update: 13-07-2011 | 00:00:00

With a favorable investment climate, Binh Duong has absorbed many businesses for industrial development. But, businesses have faced difficulties on human resources…Many measures have also been implemented to deal with these difficulties.

Thanks to the support of the local functional agencies, Minh Phuong Woodwork Co. has improved its laborers’workmanship

 Worry about quality and quantity

So far, Binh Duong has drawn nearly 13,100 domestic and FDI businesses with more than 700,000 laborers, 84% of whom are immigrant laborers. It is estimated the province needs more than 100,000 laborers every year.

Most immigrant laborers applying for jobs in Binh Duong have not yet been trained, so businesses have faced difficulties when recruiting these laborers.

According to Binh Duong Furniture Association, one of businesses’ current difficulties is to have to seek human resources by themselves to meet their production demands. But in general, the lack of laborers is still a problem for businesses.

In addition to the labor demand on high rise, vocational training has encountered many shortcomings for change. Vo Truong Thanh, CEO of Truong Thanh Woodwork Corporation and Nguyen Tien Thanh, vice-chairman of Binh Duong Pottery Association said that businesses now lack highly skilled laborers, due to many reasons.

Measures closely linked with real situation

To stabilize human resources, BIFA proposed: “The State should have more support policies for laborers and raise their awareness of industrial working styles; boost the construction of tenements for low-income laborers; build entertainment areas for laborers and pre-schools for their offspring…”.

Besides, many businesses have paid attention to giving vocational training to laborers. According to Huynh Quang Thanh, CEO of Hiep Long Woodwork Co., vocational training schools need to have better cooperation with businesses in training human resources at industries’ current demand.

The province has also taken measures to stabilize human resources. For sustainable development, the province has always paid attention to the issues on social welfare; called for economic classes to build tenements, kindergartens, supermarkets, outdoor theaters to meet laborers’ demands; realized the projects of giving vocational training to laborers…

It is believed that the province’s above practical measures will help businesses remove their worry about the issues of human resources and vocational training.
