On August 30, Mai Hung Dung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, Head of Binh Duong Smart City Executive Committee (referred to as the Executive Committee), chaired a meeting about preparation works to welcome the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) delegation coming to Binh Duong.
At the meeting, Peter Porttheine, member of the Executive Committee, said that the ICF delegation will survey the implementation of criteria to rank TOP 1 regions having typical strategies for intelligent city development (ICF’s TOP 1). In particular, sustainable factors (these are factors that play an important role in building a smart city); community factors are on focus. It is expected that the delegation will work with leaders of Binh Duong province and other departments and agencies for 4 days, from September 5 to 8, 2023.
According to reports, Binh Duong has been implementing smart city construction projects based on ICF's six evaluation criteria, including: connection - broadband; workforce; innovation; equal digital access; support and encouragement; sustainability. Prominent are projects promoting the role of the three parties in smart city construction, such as: digital transformation human resource training project for Binh Duong province; building telecommunications infrastructure and public wifi; Master plan of Binh Duong province for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050...
Concluding the meeting, Mai Hung Dung asked provincial departments and agencies to select the main contents to report, which highlight upcoming and long-term achievements and plans related to ICF assessment criteria; closely follow the work program of the ICF delegation to prepare documents for the working process; work closely with the Smart City Office to complete the documents.
