Provincial Party Committee yesterday held a conference to sum up the ten-year implementation of the Party Central Committee 5th meeting resolution, term IX on further improving, developing and enhancing the effectiveness of collective economy.

Over the past ten years, Binh Duong focused on implementation of the Party Central Committee 5th meeting resolution, term IX on further improving, developing and enhancing the effectiveness of collective economy, contributing to promoting the development of the province’s collective economy. The whole province is now home to more than 1,350 cooperative groups with 17,650 members. The total revenue of the province’s collective economic sector last year was estimated at more than 1.43trillion with the annual growth of 23.46%. Also during the past ten years, 18 old cooperatives were changed under the Law on Cooperatives; 84 cooperatives were dissolved and 141 new cooperatives were also set up. Collective economy made contributions to the province’s socio-economic development, national defence and security. However, the province’s collective economic sector has so far faced shortcomings for change.

Addressing the conference, Vu Minh Sang, Permanent Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of provincial People’s Council said that the development of collective economy was a great policy of the Party and State, so the local Party organizations must define their leadership role in the implementation of this while considering it as one of the province’s key tasks for socio-economic development, national defence and security. From that point, many measures to remove hurdles in the process of developing the province’s collective economy would be taken for better results.
