Province’s foreign affairs activities reach many outstanding results

In 2023, the province’s foreign affairs took place vibrantly, continuously and were a prominent bright spot in the local general achievements on socio-economic development.

"Raising the level" of foreign affairs

 In 2023, Binh Duong province successfully organized the "Meeting Japan 2023” program to practically celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2023). The program was an opportunity for Binh Duong province, localities and Japanese partners to evaluate the results of cooperation in the past and set out orientations for cooperation in the future.

According to Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee, in 2023, Binh Duong has "elevated" its foreign affairs work. Provincial People's Committee has organized many important international events such as foreign business dialogues and many other important programs and activities, contributing to further tightening the cooperative relationship between all-level authorities and sectors of the province and businesses, creating the image of a friendly, dynamic and effective Binh Duong province in the eyes of foreign investors. Activities on foreign affairs, trade promotion and investment cooperation and friendly cooperation with localities were connected and promoted, achieving comprehensive results in many fields.

In 2023, the province sent 46 delegations with 149 visits to promote investment, survey, learn from experience abroad and attend a number of international and regional conferences and forums. The province also received 65 delegations with 669 visitors; organized dialogues with business branches and businesses in 4 foreign markets, including England, Korea, China, Japan while promoting investment and trade with partners from Singapore, India and China. The province signed a letter of intent between Binh Duong province and Argentina’s Santa Fe province; signed a memorandum of understanding to establish friendly cooperative relations between Binh Duong province, Artemisa province in Cuba and Nebraska state in the USA...

Through foreign affairs activities, Binh Duong's position and reputation have continued being enhanced at many important international forums. This has helped Binh Duong get more opportunities to promote the local business investment environment, image, people, potential and strengths while seeking opportunities to promote cooperation with partners in applying modern technology to continue accelerating the process of industrialization and urbanization.

Katherine Lam, Member of Poftland Port Council, President and CEO of Bambuza Hotel Group, Head of Oregon State’s delegation from the USA said: "Binh Duong is reaching stronger development than what we thought. The government of Oregon State will call for many businesses to invest in Binh Duong”.

When visiting and working in Binh Duong, Nomoto Hirofumi, Chairman of Tokyu Group said: "Binh Duong develops very quickly thanks to building its brand through economic diplomacy policies. Binh Duong always takes people and businesses as the service center. To date, Tokyu Group has expanded its development and business activities in real estate, housing, commercial centers, services and entertainment, thereby contributing to improving utilities and quality of life for people...".

It can be affirmed that thanks to good promotion of its image and brand, Binh Duong has become a safe and ideal destination for investors. Along with economic diplomacy activities, the province has focused on cultural diplomacy, thereby spreading the cultural values, heritage, beauty of the land and people of Binh Duong to international friends. In the coming time, the province will promote internal resources, take advantage of external resources and expand foreign activities. This will be a resource for Binh Duong to promote more and more sustainable socio-economic development.
