Province’s six-month economy achieves positive growth

Despite difficulties, Binh Duong province’s economy in the first half of 2012 has further maintained stability and achieved positive growth. Industrial, agricultural, service fields herein have increased between 1.9% and 16.8%.

Trade-services on sharp growth

Thanks to urgent measures under the instruction of Government and the province well implemented, the province’s service sector has gained the highest growth at 16.8% in the first half of the year.

 

 The province’s business and production activities have still maintained stable growth

The province has implemented a program on hi-quality services development between 2011 and 2015; issued a plan on price stabilization for essential commodities with a total value of VND485bln; promoted the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”; strengthen the market control work…

In the first half of the year, the province’s total retail sales value of commodities and services has reached VND33.083trillion, up 23.5% compared to the same period of last year. Consumer price index has increased by 3.48% against December 2011. Export turnover has secured more than US$5.12bln, up 17.9% compared to the same corresponding period of last year. Import value is estimated at nearly US$4.19bln, up 15.1% over the same period of last year.

Industrial manufacture has also achieved VND58,493.4bln, a year-on-year increase of 11.1%.

Hastening urgent projects

The province has actively got involved in urban development and investment. The total value of construction volume implemented is estimated at VND2.172trillion or 65.8% of the projection.

Apartedly, the province has attached special importance to investment attraction. In the first half of the year, the province has absorbed 780 new investment projects and 201 extra-ones with a total registered capital of VND5.586trillion and VND272mln, contributing to promoting the local economic growth.

The province’s agricultural sector has also continued achieving stable growth during the period. The province has paid more attention to disease prevention in plants and animals; tightened control over the slaughter, trade and transport of poultry and cattle, contributing to ensuring food safety; mapped out many plans on shifting agricultural structure, raising the ability and effectiveness of agricultural cooperatives…

In terms of environment and natural resources, the province has made a land use plan till 2020; executed the Law on Non-Agricultural Land Use Tax; tightened control over environmental management; inspected and dealt with the illegal exploitation, trade and transport of sand on Dong Nai and Sai Gon rivers…
