Provincial People’s Committee yesterday held a meeting to approve the local draft report on socio-economic development, national defence and security in Q1 of 2016 and define orientations, tasks for Q2 of the year. Good results
Thanks to the Government and province’s resolutions on socio-economic development well implemented, the province’s socio-economic performance in Q1 of 2016 reached a lot of major results in all aspects.
Particularly, the province’s industrial manufacture continued being maintained with the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) surging 7.09% compared to last year’s same period. The production-business activities of province-based enterprises further went on smoothness during the period. There were 100% of enterprises resuming work with the number of laborers of more than 98% of total. Most of them got orders till Mar. and Apr., 2016 and even some had orders till Q2 of the year.
The province’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services in Q1 was estimated at more than VND33trillion, up 20.1% against last year’s corresponding period. Total export turnover reached more than US$5bln, up 15.8% while total import value was nearly US$4.4bln, up 15.5% over last year’s corresponding period.
Also in Q1, the province’s agricultural production also continued reaching a stable growth with the annual cultivation area of more than 6,500 hectares, up 0.2% against last year’s corresponding period. For the national target program on building new-style rural areas, the province also mobilized many sources to maintain and improve the quality of criteria of 32 new-style rural communes while fulfilling documents on recognizing Dau Tieng district and Tan Uyen towns as new-style rural localities and submitting them to the central administration for approval.
The province also obtained positive results in the domains of natural resources-environment, finance-credit, development investment…Noticeably, the province attracted 38 newly-registered projects and 22 extra-ones with total investment capital of US$581mln, 88% of which poured capital into industrial parks.
Actively advocating enterprises
Provincial People’s Committee has set many major tasks to successfully carry out the local targets on socio-economic development in the coming time. Accordingly, the province will further execute the Government’s Resolution No.01/NQ-CP dated July 1, 2016; improve shortcomings, being determine to successfully carry out tasks on socio-economic development in Q2 of 2016. Provincial leaders have also suggested the local authorities at all levels and sectors to urgently map out action programs to implement the Resolution of the 10th provincial Party Congress, the Plan for socio-economic development, the Plan for middle-term public investment in the 2016-2020 period…
One of the province’s major tasks in Q2 is to monitor enterprises’ operations to opportunely help them remove difficulties to promote industrial manufacture and exports. Provincial leaders have stressed that the local authorities at all levels and sectors need to further take measures to support enterprises in production and business, enhancing their competitiveness under the Government’s Resolution No.19/NQ-CP dated Mar.12, 2015. Relevant sectors and localities have also been ordered to soon carry out a plan on adjustment of industrial parks approved by the Prime Minister.
In the current context, Vietnam, especially Binh Duong has a lot of advantages in investment attraction. That’s reason why the province needs to recheck queries on investment procedures, site clearance and compensation to promote construction of projects, works; recheck and sort out key projects on infrastructure, rural traffic, health, education, environment…to call for investors to get involved in them; put focus on State budget management…
Addressing the meeting, Tran Thanh Liem, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that the local socio-economic development in Q1 of 2016 was very positive. In the coming time, the local authorities at all levels and sectors need to focus on supporting enterprises to promote production and business while strengthening investment attraction. They also need to bend on building new-style rural areas to have additional 10 new-style rural communes by the end of 2016 while improving the quality of 32 communes recognized as new-style rural ones. Especially, in Q2, localities need to absolutely ensure political security, social order and safety for the upcoming Apr.30 and May 1 holiday and the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels…
Also in Q1, the province’s social welfare task was ensured. The whole province mobilized more than VND362bln from many sources to carry out this task. On the last Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, the province spent VND362bln on taking care of policy beneficiaries; awarding the “Heroic mother” title to 226 mothers; building and upgrading 5 gratitude houses with total expense of nearly VND800mln…
In addition, the province took good care of laborers’ lives. Province-based enterprises sufficiently and opportunely implemented policies for laborers, especially on the last Tet festival. The province also organized 3 job transaction sessions with the demand for recruitment of nearly 67,000 laborers; created jobs for more than 6,700 laborers…, thereby contributing to supporting enterprises to work stably and effectively after the Tet festival.
