Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee cum Head of provincial Steering Board 127 made the statement at a meeting on the 2012 activities against smuggling, counterfeit goods and trade fraud.

The local functional agencies and members of the Steering Board 127 last year made efforts in inspecting the goods market and giving timely solutions to wrong cases regarding the trade of forbidden goods, especially petrol, tobacco and food that did not ensure hygiene and safety, etc. However, the situation of smuggling and trade fraud herein remained very complicated. The local functional agencies handled nearly 10,140 wrong cases, collecting a total fine of more than VND428bln, etc.

According to provincial Steering Board’s plan in 2013, relevant agencies will further set up inter-sectorial inspection groups, effectively implement plans against smuggling, production and trade of counterfeit goods and trade fraud, etc.
