Province well realizes solutions, fulfilling socio-economic plan of 2018

Early October 31, Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee presided over a periodic meeting in October with focus on approving a draft report of provincial People’s Committee on socio-economic development, national defence-security in October, a draft report on arrangement of industrial production projects in the province; partially reviewing provincial plan on housing development for the period of 2016-2018…

Targets reaching high growth

Reportedly, provincial index of industrial production in October, 2018 surged 11.03% and 20% compared to the previous month and the same period last year, respectively. Over the past 10 months, the index rose by 9.42%. The province’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was nearly VND158billion, up nearly 18%. The province’s export turnover reached US$19.8billion, up 15.4% against the same period last year. The province’s investment climate continued being improved, absorbing more investment capital. As of mid October, the whole province absorbed over VND46.3trillion, up 22% compared to the same period last year while FDI attraction reached more than US$1.5billion, surpassing 9% compared to the year’s plan.

Also during the past 10 months, the province’s State budget collection was estimated at VND41.6trillion or 79.2% of the estimates of provincial People’s Committee while State budget spending was VND9.1trillion, up 9% against the same period last year. The province’s total capital mobilized was VND176trillion, up 5% compared to the same period last year while total outstanding loans reached VND172trillion, up 13% compared to early this year.

From now to year-end, the province will bend on 9 major tasks in realizing 2018’s socio-economic targets and plan for 2019. Particularly, the province will further improve the local investment climate; well realize policies for policy beneficiaries and poor people on the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2018; hasten the process of construction of key works; successfully organize the Asian Economic Cooperation Forum 2018 (Horasis)…

Sharp increase on housing area

Under provincial Program on housing development to 2020, orientation to 2030 and provincial Plan on housing development for the period of 2016-2020, the average housing area of the province between 2016-2020 will reach 30 square meters per person. The province needs to increase by around 5.6 million square meters of commercial housing floor area, 19.64 million square meters of housing floor area invested by people and 2.71 million of social housing floor area. As of December 31, 2017, the average housing floor area of the province was around 27.07 square meters per person, up 0.67 square meters compared to the year’s plan.

In terms of commercial houses (including ones for low-income laborers), from January 1, 2016 to October 15, 2018, provincial People’s Committee approved 53 projects, equivalent to 184.28 hectares of land and 3.77 million square meters of housing floor area. Thus, the total commercial housing area of the whole province has so far obtained 67.3% of the set plan.

Along with results done in the local housing development, the province has still had some shortcomings in this field for change, including the slow implementation of some housing projects…

Concluding the session, Mr.Liem stressed that the province’s socio-economic development, national defence-security in October in particular and over the past 10 months in general basically gained comprehensive results. He also asked for relevant agencies to recheck the contents of the above draft reports and soon send them to provincial People’s Committee Office in order to perfect them. For targets with low results, they need to focus on adjustment right from now to year-end to fulfill the set plan.

He also suggested sectors, departments in the province to well realize contents for the 5th session of provincial People’s Committee. For provincial draft report on arrangement of industrial production projects, provincial Department of Planning and Investment was ordered to coordinate with provincial Department of Justice to issue documents opportunely…
