Early January 28, provincial Association of the Blind held a ceremony to mark its 30th anniversary, review 2014’s activities and implement tasks through 2015. Nguyen Huu Tu, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee attended the ceremony.

Under Uncle Ho’s teaching “Being invalid but not useless”, provincial Association of the Blind over the past time got involved in activities helping visually-impaired people integrate into the community and step by step stabilize their lives. The average income of the association’s members was VND2.2mln per capita per month and there were no households in need of housing. In 2015, the association will maintain stable jobs for members at bamboo tookpicks-producing facilities and massage ones; strive to increase the total sales of the facilities to 10% and above, contributing to improving members’ income.
Addressing the ceremony, Mr.Liem acknowledged and praised achievements done by the association while hoping that with their energy and flexibility, members would further try to get new opportunities and adapt themselves to the society’s constant development. He also asked for relevant agencies to pay more attention to the association, helping members get jobs with stable income.
On this occasion, provincial Association of the Blind was awarded the third-class Labor of the State President and the certificate of merit of provincial People’s Committee Chairman. Tran Van Em, Chairman of provincial Association of the Blind was also awarded the certificate of merit of the Government for his achievements in promoting the development of the association.
