Reach out to vulnerable children
In the last days of 2024, hundreds of disadvantaged students in Dau Tieng district were happy to receive scholarships from the Project "Developing education for disadvantaged students in Binh Duong province, phase 2023-2028" of the non-governmental organization Saigon Children's Charity CIO. The total value of the scholarship award was up to 273 million VND.
Receiving a scholarship and gifts from the program, Nguyen Ngoc Tuong Vy, a student at Thanh Tuyen High School in Dau Tieng district, expressed, "This will motivate me and my friends to excel in our studies and strive to meet everyone's expectations."
Trinh Trung Hau's mother passed away due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and shortly after, his father also left. Now, he lives with his sister and grandmother in a small house located in the An Thanh quarter of An Tay ward in Ben Cat City. The family's living and educational expenses rely solely on the salary of his older sister, who works as a factory laborer. The burden on the family grew heavier when, in August 2024, Hau fell off his bike and suffered septic shock with multiple organ damage. Fortunately, he is now out of danger and is currently undergoing treatment for blood clotting issues.
After learning about Hau's situation, the Children's Support Fund visited his family and provided them with 10 million VND in assistance. Additionally, the fund reached out to benefactors to gather more support, helping the family to access better treatment for Hau.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Trieu, Director of the Provincial Children's Support Fund, stated that the organization is dedicated to supporting and caring for children, especially those in particularly difficult circumstances.
