Provincial collective economy orienting sustainable, diverse development

After 10 years of Resolution of Central Conference 5 (9th tenure)implement in terms of innovating, developing and improving collective economy’s efficiency, Binh Duong province achieved significant results and has continued to develop stably.   PPC Vice Chairman Mr. Tran Thanh Liem conferred credits on cooperative representatives having outstanding achievements at Summarizing conference of 10 years of Resolution Central Conference 5 (9th tenure) implementationConfirming the roleThe province directed implementation of Resolution No. 13 Central Conference (9th tenure) to foster development of provincial collective economy. The important thing was that officials, Party members and social strata improved awareness, self-reliance about guidelines, policies of implement and businesses of economic collectives. Cooperatives were consolidated, are able to be profitable; income and life of members are improved. The province currently has 1,352 cooperative groups with 27,650 members; 111 cooperatives with 48,408 members; total charter capital of VND595.45 bln, borrowed capital of VND234.232 bln. According to cooperative classification in 2012, BD province had 43.75% good cooperatives, 53.75% average ones and 2.5% weak ones. Total turnover of collective economic sector in 2012 achieved VND1,435 bln, annual average growth was 23.46%. Cooperatives operated well in fields of agriculture, transportation, trading, and service. Newly established cooperatives had medium or small scale but high capital compared to previous ones, involving subjects and operation were extended, nature and principles were seriously carried out.Collective economy has had great contributions to local socio-economic development. During last 10 years, cooperatives contributed thousands of work days and VND5 bln for electricity, rural traffic road system construction. Additionally, cooperatives, credit funds financed over VND5 bln for compassionate house construction, hunger eliminating and poverty reducing funds…Overcoming difficulties to developProvincial Cooperative Alliance Chairman Mr. Tran Van Luc said, despite many innovations in operation, collective economy has not attracted many labors yet. The sector still faces difficulties in accessing State’s preferential policies.Furthermore, propaganda is still restrained, development of diverse forms of collective economy is not effective. Internal strength of most cooperatives is pretty weak, small scale, poor facilities, out-of-date technologies, mainly craft production. In the coming time, these shortcomings need to be remedied in order for collective economy to continue to develop and contribute effectively to provincial general development. Leaders need to define responsibilities in direction, implementation of Resolution, Action program, laws and regulations regarding collective economic development. This needs to be considered as a center, regular task, one strategy to develop economy, society, security, defense of the province.
