Early March 11, a delegation from provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment (DoAE), led by Vo Thanh Giau, Deputy Director of provincial DoAE, conducted a survey on high-tech agricultural production in Phu Giao district. The survey aimed at assessing challenges faced by businesses to propose support solutions to promote the local high-tech agricultural development.

The delegation met with Southern Seed Corporation – Phu Giao Branch and U&I Agriculture Joint Stock Company (Unifarm), two leading enterprises in high-tech agriculture. The key issues raised by both companies included high land rental costs and complicated legal procedures.

Leaders of provincial DoAE proposed three suitable development models for Unifarm, including: establishing a high-tech agricultural zone to facilitate research and production for enterprises; creating a high-tech agricultural region that allows enterprises and cooperatives to participate in production; recognizing high-tech agricultural enterprises, enabling Unifarm to take advantage of tax incentives and loan support policies.

To address the above-mentioned challenges, provincial DoAE will consider adjusting land rental rates to ease financial pressure and expedite legal procedures for Unifarm’s projects. The department will also guide enterprises in completing documents to gain recognition and access support policies as soon as possible.
