Provincial Farmers’ Association marks 83rd anniversary of VFA

Provincial Farmers Association, on October 11, held a get-together to mark the 83rd anniversary of Vietnam Farmers Association (VFA) (October 14, 1930-October 14, 2013) and partially review the three-year implementation of the Politburo’s Directive No.48-CT-TW on “Enhancing Party’s leadership over crime prevention and fighting in the new context”.

Reportedly, along with helping members in economic development, provincial Farmers Associations and its affiliates over the past 3 years built up self-governing models, sped up law dissemination…under the Combined Action Program between VFA and the Ministry of Public Security, contributing to keeping the local order and security.

Since early this year, provincial Farmers Association has admitted additional 2,185 members, bringing its total number of members to 60,530. The association and its affiliates well realized the emulation movement of “good farmer in production and business” with 42,297 households registering to win the title. Besides, they also paid attention to the movements of “farmers helping each other in economic development”. As a result, there were 821 members helped by many forms with total loan of more than VND1.6bln to develop homebased business. The association and its affiliates also cooperated with relevant agencies to disburse nearly VND20.2bln in loan for 1,843 households, developed loan-supporting programs with more than VND450mln provided for 204 households to promote homebased business.

On this occasion, provincial Farmers Association awarded 6 mementoes and 4 certificates of merit to cadres and members who made contributions to Vietnam’s farmers and gained excellent achievements in the implementation of the Politburo’s Directive No.48.
