Determining that taking care of disadvantaged people is a regular task. Over the past time, provincial Fatherland Front Committees (FFC) at all levels made great efforts in implementing practical activities, joining hands with the Party and State to well realize social welfare policies.
Comprehensive care
Defining social welfare work as one of the important tasks, provincial FFCs at all levels have always closely cooperated with Party committees and authorities to carry out many activities on social welfare work to help disadvantaged people rise up in life. Particularly, they promoted the implementation of the campaign of "All people unite to build civilized urban and new-style rural areas" in association with the movement of "The whole country joins hands to build new countryside"; mobilized organizations and individuals to build the "For the Poor" Fund, the Relief Fund and well performed other humanitarian and charitable activities to offer help to policy beneficiary families and those with extremely difficult circumstances.
The "zero dong” market-day is a practical activity to share difficulties with the poor, create a close atmosphere to help the poor confidently erase their complex and get motivation to rise up in life
Provincial FFCs and sectors have had many practical activities to take care of the poor, contributing to effectively realizing the local social welfare policies; been proactive to set up a plan on mobilizing the Fund for the Poor; reviewed and made a list of poor people for timely support. In addition, provincial FFCs at all levels have paid special importance to renovating the contents and methods of propagandizing and mobilizing people from all walks of life to actively respond to sustainable poverty reduction, contributing to improving people's lives.
The campaign of "All people unite to build civilized urban and new-style rural areas” has been actively implemented by provincial FFCs at all levels, closely following the political tasks of each locality and unit. They have also got involved in implementing the criteria of residential housing, helping each other in economic development, contributing to the local infrastructure construction and environmental protection...
"Mutual love, mutual affection" spirit upheld
Promoting the spirit of "mutual love and mutual affection", provincial FFCs at all levels have also organized many charity activities to support the local people. Just receiving a new house jointly awarded by the FFC of My Phuoc ward in Ben Cat town, Le Thu Tham in My Phuoc ward’s quarter 2 excitedly shared: “…This is the motivation for me and my family to try to do business, rising up for a stable life”. The 54-sq.m house had a total construction cost of VND 105 million.
Along with supporting poor households to build “great unity” houses, provincial FFCs at all levels have regularly organized "zero dong” market-days to support the local disadvantaged households. With the message of "Connecting community, spreading acts of kindness", "Zero dong” market-days included stalls with essential food items such as rice, instant noodles, sauces, cooking oil, eggs, spices and vegetables, fruits... sold at the price of “Zero dong” for disadvantaged households with funding from many different sources.
Phu Hoa ward in Thu Dau Mot city has also just held a "zero dong” market-day. Co-organized by the ward’s FFC, mass organizations, the “zero dong” market-day mobilized individuals and businesses to support 180 gifts, including necessities, with a total value of VND 63 million for officials, members, core forces and those with difficult circumstances.
The FFC of Tru Van Tho commune in Bau Bang district has also coordinated with the local Red Cross Society to organize a "zero dong” market-day to support 150 disadvantaged households. Each household received gifts worth VND 500,000 each.
Similarly, the FFC of Thanh An commune in DauTieng district has also just coordinated with the local Red Cross Society and its member organizations to organize the "Zero dong” market-day 2022 with gifts worth VND36million, including rice, noodles, fish sauce, soy sauce, cooking oil, sugar, milk, rice paper, eggs... The "Zero dong” market-day took place joyfully and meaningfully, contributing to supporting food and essential necessities for people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and those with difficult circumstances.
Looking back over the past year, it can be affirmed that with the efforts by FFCs, authorities and mass organizations at all levels together with positive response of people from all walks of life, the province’s social welfare work to support disadvantaged people achieved many practical effects. The lives of people and social policy beneficiaries have been gradually improved. Many households have made their own efforts to get out of poverty sustainably...
