Provincial Journalists’ Association Congress term 6 (tenure 2015-2020)

Morning June 17th, the 6th provincial Journalists’ Association Congress (tenure 2015-2020) continued the second working session and organized the ending ceremony. Mr. Nguyen Minh Giao, member of provincial Party Standing Committee cum Head of Propaganda and Training Committee; Mr. Pham Quoc Toan, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Journalists’ Association, and 265 members of provincial press agencies attended the meeting.

 

In the last tenure (2010-2015), Executive Committee of provincial Journalists’ Association actively supported members to improve professional knowledge and skills, disseminated resolutions of the Central Government and the province, especially Directive 03 of the Politburo on promoting "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh"; organized professional training courses for nearly 200 correspondents, especially training of writing skills of reports, handling articles, multimedia newspaper, TV documentaries, reportages…

The meeting discussed and put forward solutions for the new term to innovative contents, operation, facilitate professional qualification improvement of members, stress the importance of multimedia newspaper.

 

The new Executive Committee comprising 15 cadres of provincial Journalists’ Association (tenure 2015-2020) was also elected, and promised to develop a strong professional journalist team to propagate timely, effectively the Party's guidelines and the State’s laws.

 

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Minh Giao praised achievements of provincial Journalists’ Association. He also asked provincial press agencies to follow closely principles of Vietnamese revolutionary press, promote the strength of mass media, improve articles’ quality, innovative propaganda forms, praise new excellent individuals, unite and develop journalist team.

 

Journalists need to adhere to political tasks, raise political awareness, train virtues and skills, coordinate closely with Central press agencies to create consensus among people.

 

On this occasion, provincial Journalists’ Association also held the 90th Vietnam Revolutionary Journalism anniversary (June 21st 1925 - June 21st 2015). At the meeting, participants reviewed the glorious tradition of Vietnam revolutionary press during the past 90 years, specified advantages and challenges to journalism in the national defense and construction.
