Early September 13, Tran Thanh Liem, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee presided over a meeting to hear a speech by Holland’s Braint Port Group on the “Project to develop Binh Duong into a smart city” (briefly the Project). Attending the event were vice-chairpersons of provincial People’s Committee, leaders of sectors, departments and Becamex IDC.

Peter Portheine, Director of Brain Port Group said that the objectives of the Project are to implement the model of Triple Helix with academia-industry and government relationship through setting up research centers, corporate nurseries; linking research institutes, universities in Holland and around the world to strengthen competitiveness of the local supply chain; map out concrete strategies, plans for socio-economic development towards a smart city. The Project will also put forward criteria that Binh Duong needs to realize in order to become a smart city.
Concluding the meeting, Mr.Liem spoke highly of cooperation between Becamex IDC and Braint Port Group in setting up the Project while emphasizing that action programs of the Project need to be in line with the ones of provincial Party Committee. He also required relevant agencies to further contribute ideas to the Project and they will be collected by Becamex to perfect the Project and submit it to provincial People’s Committee for approval.
