Provincial leader welcomes Indian Consul General in HCM city

Early September 9, Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee received Madan Mohan Sethi, Indian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh (HCM) city, who came to bid farewell at the end of his tenure in Vietnam at provincial Integrated Administration Center.

During the reception, Mr. Ha provided a brief overview of the province's socio-economic development in the first months of 2024. Regarding foreign investment attraction, India currently ranks 23rd among 65 countries and territories making investment in the province with 10 projects capitalized at over US$ 116 million in investment. Mr. Ha congratulated Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi on his successful tenure in Vietnam and while hoping that after returning to India, he would further encourage Indian businesses to invest in Binh Duong, particularly in high-tech sectors such as semiconductors, green energy, green economy, circular economy…

Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi highly appreciated Binh Duong province's path toward sustainable development and thanked provincial leaders for their support of Indian businesses over the past years. He noted that Vietnam and India are strengthening their multi-sector cooperation. Therefore, he hoped that provincial leaders would further create favorable conditions for Indian businesses to invest in Binh Duong, especially in such fields as developing high-quality human resources and researching IT and high-tech projects in the province. Additionally, he expressed his desire that provincial leaders would actively support cultural exchange activities to further strengthen the friendship and solidarity between the people of Vietnam and India.
