Provincial leaders meet Vietnamese students in Singapore participating in green summer volunteer campaign

On the afternoon of June 14, Bui Thanh Nhan, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission chaired a program on  “Provincial Leaders meeting a delegation of Vietnamese students in Singapore to implement the Green Summer Volunteer Program on “Building dreams, fulfilling ambitions” 2024 in Binh Duong". The event was attended by Nguyen Thi My Hang, Chairwoman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee, along with leaders from various departments and sectors.

During the program, representatives of the Vietnamese Student Association in Singapore introduced their organization. Currently, the association has over 9,000 students living and studying in Singapore. For the first time, this summer, nearly 20 members from Singapore came to Binh Duong to participate in the Green Summer volunteer activities, engaging in many meaningful initiatives.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Nhan emphasized that Singapore is a country that Binh Duong is very interested in learning from in various fields. Binh Duong is a destination for everyone and is currently focused on building and managing sustainable development values. The province gives priority to investing in infrastructure, especially transportation infrastructure, and transforming the industrial development model towards ecological, high-tech and smart industrial zones. Binh Duong is also very concerned with building a cultural and civilized lifestyle, digital transformation and attracting high-quality human resources. Mr. Nhan expressed his hope that in the future, the Vietnamese Student Association in Singapore will continue connecting with provincial Student Association to exchange, guide, support and share their knowledge and experience with Binh Duong.

*Earlier, the Secretariat of provincial Student Association and the Secretariat of the Vietnamese Student Association in Singapore jointly organized the Green Summer Volunteer Program on "Building Dreams, Fulfilling Ambitions" 2024 at Hoa Loc Primary School in Dau Tieng district’s Minh Hoa commune.

During the program, the two student associations, in collaboration with donors presented 100 gifts, including over 100 dream backpacks worth VND 14 million in total, 200 kg of rice to 100 children participating in the program, offered 20 study corners worth over VND 55 million to disadvantaged children and a children's bookshelf worth VND 48 million to Hoa Loc Primary School. Additionally, the delegation decorated green spaces for the school, organized meals for 100 children, and held fun activities for the local children.
