Provincial leaders pay gift visits to centenarians

On the afternoon of September 30, a delegation of provincial leaders, led by Nguyen Thanh Liem, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Public Relations, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee, visited and presented gifts to 6 elderly people who have reached 100 years of age in Ben Cat town.

These centenarians include Nguyen Thi Hot, Do Thi Nam, Nguyen Thi Ngon in Chanh Phu Hoa ward; Le Thi Hai in Phu An commune; Nguyen Van Ruc in An Tay commune and Dang Thi Viet in Hoa Loi ward.

Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee also led a delegation to pay gift visits to centenarians in TDM city and congratulated them on their longevity. Particularly, the delegation visited and donated gifts to heroic Vietnamese mother Bo Thi Ngoi in Hiep Thanh ward, Nguyen Hau Tai in Phu Cuong ward and Huynh De in Hiep An ward.

Whilst, representatives of provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, leaders of North Tan Uyen district also visited and presented gifts to centenarians in the district, namely Nguyen Duc Chung in Lac An commune, Nguyen Van Tang in Tan Binh commune and Huynh Thi Hai (photo) in Thuong Tan commune.

In the visiting places, the delegation extended best regards to these centenarians and hoped that they will continue living happily, healthily and be always good examples for their descendants to follow. The delegation also wanted that the local government will further pay attention to the spiritual and material lives of the elderly, especially those with difficult circumstances.

On this occasion, each centenarian was given a gift worth VND1.5million, including VND1million in cash, together with 5 meters of silk and the certificate of longevity of the Vietnam Association for the Elderly.
