Provincial leaders visit, congratulate Catholic dignitaries on Christmas 2023

On the afternoon of December 18, Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation and provincial delegation visited and congratulated the Phu Cuong Bishop's Office,  a number of Catholic and Protestant dignitaries on the occasion of the 2023 Christmas season. The event was attended by members of provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of provincial People's Council and Fatherland Front Committee.

On the occasion of the 2023 Christmas season, on behalf of provincial leaders, Mr. Loi wished Bishop Nguyen Tan Tuoc, priests, monks, nuns and Catholic followers across the province a peaceful, joyful, and blessed Christmas season and a happy New Year. He said that in 2023, despite having many impacts from the world and region’s complicated development, the entire political system and people in the province made efforts to overcome difficulties, achieving and exceeding many important targets. Noticeably, the province's economic growth reached 6%, higher than the national average level and the province was considered as a bright spot in the southern key economic region, with political security and social order-safety maintained.

Mr. Loi emphasized that the achievements done in 2023 were the efforts by the entire Party, government, people and business community in the province, including the positive contributions by Catholic people. He hopes that Bishop Nguyen Tan Tuoc, priests, nuns and monks in the diocese should further encourage Catholic followers to well comply with the Party's guidelines, the State’s policies and laws, join hands with localities, other religions and people from all strata to preserve, promote and spread fine cultural values, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, contributing to the local development.

On behalf of the Phu Cuong Bishop’s Office, Bishop Nguyen Tan Tuoc respectfully thanked leaders of the province and Thu Dau Mot city for their deep attention, always creating favorable conditions for the Phu Cuong Diocese to work stably. Bishop Nguyen Tan Tuoc said that in the coming time, the Catholic community in the Phu Cuong Diocese will continue well implementing the Party's guidelines, the State’s policies and laws, living with the motto of “good life, good region” and actively participating in the local emulation movements, joining hands in building up a more and more prosperous and beautiful Binh Duong.

On the same afternoon, Mr. Loi and the delegation also visited and congratulated Bishop Tran Dinh Tu, former Bishop of the Phu Cuong Diocese and priests at the diocese's nursing home; visited and congratulated St. Joseph's Cathedral and Phu Cuong Cathedral.
