Provincial leaders welcome delegations in research of local cooperation opportunities
On the afternoon of February 24, Bui Minh Thanh, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee welcomed and worked with a delegation from Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, led by Masashi Suzuki, a member of the Ibaraki Prefectural Assembly.
At the meeting, Mr. Thanh shared some of Binh Duong's economic and social development achievements in 2024. The province aims at achieving a 10% growth rate in 2025. Currently, Binh Duong is home to 4,430 investment projects from 65 countries and territories, with total registered capital of US$42.5 billion. Japan ranks second among these investors, with 358 projects capitalized at nearly US$6 billion. Mr. Thanh also emphasized that Binh Duong is actively strengthening regional cooperation, particularly in transportation, science and technology, ecosystem innovation, smart, green and sustainable development.
On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Masashi Suzuki congratulated Binh Duong on its development achievements and highlighted the similarities between the two localities. Like Binh Duong’s development direction, Ibaraki is also focusing on green transition, encouraging innovation in science and technology development. Mr. Masashi Suzuki expressed his hope that based on these shared development goals, both sides could explore opportunities for exchange and cooperation in areas of mutual interest in the near future.
*On the afternoon of the same day, Bui Minh Thanh, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee received a delegation from China’s Liaoning provincial Department of Commerce, led by Li Jun, Deputy Director of Liaoning provincial Department of Commerce.

Mr. Thanh informed the delegation of an overview of Binh Duong’s recent socio-economic development and highlighted that China currently ranks first among countries and territories investing in the province, with 1,806 projects capitalized at over US$ 11.5 billion. He also shared Binh Duong’s development orientations and investment priorities, including high-tech, semiconductor, green energy, green economy, circular economy, environmentally friendly industries that are less intensive-labor with high added values, financial services, logistics and other modern services. Additionally, the province is focusing on attracting investment in auxiliary industries, high-tech agriculture and especially the local science and technology industrial park. The sectors that the province prioritizes for investment attraction, especially semiconductor and education sectors, are also strengths of Liaoning province. Therefore, Mr. Thanh hopes that Binh Duong province and Liaoning province will establish a relationship and strengthen cooperation opportunities in various fields such as industrial production, trade, tourism and research & development.
Mr. Li Jun stated that Liaoning province achieved a 29% growth rate in 2024. The province has 120 new industrial parks, 16,000 business headquarters—including many ranked among the world's top 500 companies—and 114 universities... He expressed confidence that as a leading industrial province in China, Liaoning shares many similarities with Binh Duong in its development plans. He hopes that in the future, the two provinces will further exchange and explore cooperation opportunities in areas of the mutual interest.
