Provincial leaders work with Provincial General Hospital

Update: 04-08-2017 | 14:38:16

On the morning of August 2, Mr. Dang Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting with Provincial General Hospital.

At the meeting, Dr. Van Quang Tan, Director of Provincial General Hospital, reported operations in 2016 and the first 6 months of 2017. Currently, Provincial General Hospital achieves first-class hospital standard according to No. 3307 / QĐ-UBND approved by PPC on 17th Dec 2015. The number of beds in 2016 was 1,300 and in 2017 is 1,400. The hospital receives an average of 1,500 - 2,000 outpatient visits and gives inpatient treatment to 1,400 to 1,600 people, emergency aid to 250-300 people per day.

In general, Provincial General Hospital was invested to upgrade and repair some facilities so it is spacious, clean and airy. The hospital also purchased more equipment; build more treatment areas to overcome the overload.

However, because of the old, cramped facility plus increasing patient number, it is overcrowding and insufficient bed space despite full use of space. On the other hand, because of lack of doctors in quantity and quality, lack of equipment and old equipment, continuous damage (equipment, IT software...), the hospital could not meet the demands in terms of quantity and quality.

Therefore, the Director of Provincial General Hospital proposed some issues to overcome, such as patient overload, shortage of human resources and difficulties in medicine and equipment supply...

Mr. Dang Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee, delivered his speech at the meeting.

After listening to opinions of doctors and delegates representing departments and sectors, Mr. Dang Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and shared difficulties with the hospital and efforts of doctors. The Vice Chairman also asked the hospital to detail their proposals in writing and submit it to provincial departments and provincial People's Committee for problem solving; departments needed to focus on solving difficulties of the hospital and help the hospital to better serve people's health care.
