Provincial Military Commander timely coordinates forces to meet requirements for preventing and overcoming consequences of natural disasters

The Provincial Military Party Committee has summarized 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 689-NQ/QUTW, dated October 10, 2014, of the Central Military Commission and Resolution No. 2330-NQ/DU, dated April 26, 2015, of the Military Region Party Committee on preventing, combating, and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and disasters and rescue until 2020 and the following years.

In recent years, the Provincial Military Party Committee has focused on leading and directing Party committees at all levels, commanding agencies, units, and localities to implement Resolution No. 689-NQ/QUTW and Resolution No. 2330-NQ/DU strictly and seriously to minimize damage to human life and property of units and people. Binh Duong has established 104 self-defense units in businesses to fulfill the requirements for preventing, combating, and managing natural disasters, as well as for rescue operations based on predetermined plans. The Provincial Military Command coordinated and advised the Party Committee and authorities to organize 55 drills, 17 sports competitions and festivals, mobilizing 421 vehicles of all types and 14,471 participants.

Over the past 10 years, the Provincial Military Command mobilized 9,568 officers and coordinated with forces and people to rescue 172 people and 8 vehicles. This helped people overcome the consequences of natural disasters and incidents, contributed to stabilizing people's daily lives, and ensured security and order. Provincial Military Command received equipment and materials to serve natural disaster prevention and control with a total value of nearly 23 billion VND, thereby supplementing the quantity and improving the quality of equipment, materials and facilities to ensure task performance.

On this occasion, the Provincial Military Party Committee rewarded 7 collectives and 7 individuals for making outstanding achievements in implementing Resolution No. 689 on preventing, combating, and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
