Provincial NA deputies listen to workers’ thoughts and aspirations

Before the 5th session of the 15th National Assembly, provincial National Assembly (NA) deputies have just had a meeting with more than 200 voters who are workers and people in Di An city to listen to their thoughts and aspirations.

Wishing for a more stable life

At the meeting, employees expressed their thoughts and aspirations, raised opinions and recommendations related to policies on social housing, social insurance, food safety & hygiene and prices on increase that has affected the lives of people, especially immigrant workers. Voter Huynh Quang Nhan, from VCK Holdings Company, expressed his concern about the fact that "wages have not increased yet, but prices have increased". Whenever there is information about preparing to increase regional minimum wages, goods sellers has begun increasing prices, making workers' lives more difficult. “I want functional sectors to have effective solutions on management of the prices of all kinds of goods in the market so that there is no longer the situation of “wages have not increased yet, but prices have increased”, especially for accommodation prices…, contributing to partially decreasing employees ‘difficulties”, he suggested.

Delegate of provincial NA delegation and representative of provincial Labor Union directly visit, encourage and give gifts for a worker with extremely difficult circumstance

Whilst, voter Nguyen Dang Quoc Vu, a worker of Thien Nam Company said that the current income of employees, especially those staying at lodging facilities, has not yet met their minimum needs while prices have increased. Therefore, the majority of employees choose to buy food with affordable prices at spontaneous markets. Therefore, employees are worried about food safety and hygiene. “The desire of employees is that functional agencies and local authorities need to take measures to strictly manage food safety and hygiene issues to ensure workers ‘health”, he added.

In addition, many voters who are employees also petitioned issues related to solutions to help employees feel secure when participating in social insurance, limiting the current one-time withdrawal of social insurance; the development of more social housing projects to help employees have the opportunity to buy houses to " live and work in peace and contentment" here. Many businesses have faced difficulties in production and business, negatively affecting employees’ jobs, incomes and lives. Therefore, workers wanted the State to further issue policies to help businesses stabilize production, help employees keep their jobs, overcoming the current difficult period...

Sharing difficulties

At the meeting, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan, Deputy Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation received and explained opinions and recommendations by voters. Accordingly, for voters and employees’ petitions on social insurance regimes and policies, she informed them of new proposals in amending and adjusting the Law on Social Insurance to be submitted at the 6th session of the 15th National Assembly. She also suggested that all-level authorities and sectors should further promote propaganda on benefits when participating in social insurance among employees; capture public opinion to promptly orient and propagate among voters and employees, contributing to well implementing the State's policies and laws on universal social insurance. In addition, Mrs. Xuan informed voters and employees of the price policy expected to be submitted to the National Assembly for approval at the upcoming 5th session. This is a content that has a direct impact on consumers' interests in the context of the impact of the post Covid-19 period as well as the general economic difficulties of the world and the nation.

Regarding the issue of food safety and hygiene, especially at spontaneous markets in the area with many industrial parks, she suggested the local functional sectors to inspect and review business activities, well ensuring requirements on food safety and hygiene, helping employees feel secure ...

After the meeting with voters, provincial National Assembly deputy delegation and Labor Union organized gifts worth VND1million each for hundreds of disadvantaged workers in Di An city. They also directly visited lodging facilities in the city to encourage and give gifts for workers with extremely difficult circumstances, fatal disease. This was one of the activities jointly organized by provincial Labor Union during the Workers' Month and the Action Month for Labor Safety and Hygiene.
