Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Loi: 1,500-bed General Hospital must be put into operation by November 2023

Early April 20, Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation and provincial delegation made an inspection tour about the construction progress of the 1,500-bed General Hospital. Accompanying the delegation was Nguyen Van Danh, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee.

Reporting to the provincial delegation, representative of provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the project includes 2 bidding packages. So far, more than 92% of the bidding package for construction, supply and installation of technical systems has been completed. Whilst, 89% of the package of construction and installation of medical gas system and transport of patient samples has been done. The current difficulty is that the equipment of the package has been imported to the work, but the installation cannot be done because it still depends on the completion progress of the package No. 1 to ensure the management.

At the working session, leader of provincial Department of Health reported on the preparation for the operation of the 1,500-bed General Hospital and the handover of the medical cluster at Yersin Street, Thu Dau Mot city to build the memorial area of Junior Doctor Nguyen Sinh Sac.

Concluding the working session, Mr. Loi emphasized that the 1,500-bed General Hospital is an important project of the province, so it must be determined at all costs not to let the project prolong. In the immediate future, the province will establish a Steering Group to regularly monitor, urge and direct the settlement of arising problems, contributing to speeding up the completion of the project. Provincial Party Committee Secretary requested relevant departments, sectors and units to uphold the sense of responsibility in coordinating to solve and remove difficulties in a timely manner. By November 2023, all the bidding packages of the project must be completed for trial operation before being put into use, meeting the healthcare needs of the people. For the relocation of provincial General Hospital and some medical facilities to the 1,500-bed General Hospital, it should be done in a scientific, reasonable and effective manner.

Provincial Party Committee Secretary assigned provincial Department of Construction to coordinate with provincial Department of Health, Department of Natural Resources and Environment in surveying, arranging for the effective use of medical facilities, namely provincial General Hospital, Phu Chanh Medical Area...after being removed into the new hospital.
