Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Loi: "If the people are in agreement, everything will succeed"

On December 5, residents of Thu Dau Mot City were particularly concerned about several topics as they engaged in dialogue with Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, a member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation. These topics include the development plan for Binh Duong to become a centrally-run city by 2030, environmental sanitation, reforms in administrative procedures, investment in infrastructure, urban beautification, digital transformation, and market stabilization before, during, and after the upcoming Lunar New Year. Most people's opinions were discussed openly and thoroughly addressed by the Provincial Party Secretary and leaders of relevant departments in a constructive and receptive manner.

Speaking about the purpose and requirements of the dialogue between the Provincial Party Secretary and the people in Thu Dau Mot City, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan, Provincial Party Standing Member, Head of the Provincial Party Mass Mobilization Committee, said that Thu Dau Mot City is the political, economic, cultural center and a class-one urban area under Binh Duong province; it is a locality that is always a pioneer in implementing many key projects of the province, carrying out many difficult tasks, piloting programs of branches in implementing the breakthroughs and targets of the province, especially key construction projects and works.

The City Party Committee focuses on its responsibilities and aims to effectively implement the 2024 tasks. It proposes solutions to gather resources for the sustainable development and improvement of the urban area, ensuring it meets the standards of the central urban area of the province.

The dialogue conference not only gathered opinions to address challenges and shortcomings that directly affect people's lives, but it also demonstrated a commitment to implementing solutions. This aims to successfully achieve the targets set for the 2020-2025 term, laying a solid foundation for the next term. These efforts contribute to the province's goal of making Binh Duong a centrally-run city by 2030.

Following the dialogue with the residents of Thu Dau Mot City, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi and the provincial delegation held a working session with the Standing Committee of the Thu Dau Mot City Party Committee. The discussion focused on several key areas, including the implementation of the General City Planning Project, urban beautification efforts, management and use of public land, the city's internal traffic system, the Saigon River road project that connects Thu Dau Mot City with Thuan An City; the need for investment funding for urban beautification and the development of connecting traffic infrastructure in the near future.

At the conference, nearly 20 opinions were sent by people in the city to the Provincial Party Secretary related to the building the political system, urban beautification, programs, projects, social order and safety and social security policies and regimes, environmental protection work...

Many opinions submitted to the Provincial Party Secretary reflect citizens' concerns about the city's development and that of Binh Duong province in the near future. Ms. Nguyen Xuan Hoa from quarter 1, Phu Cuong ward, inquired about Binh Duong's development plans to achieve the status of a centrally-governed city by 2030. Mr. To Tan Luc, from quarter 7, Phu Tho ward, suggested that authorities implement decisive measures to combat misinformation and online scams. Additionally, Ms. Nguyen Thi Truc Ha, also from quarter 7, Phu My ward, expressed her interest in the effort to streamline the political system in line with Resolution 18.

Transition to a green economy

During the dialogue, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi urged the relevant agencies to thoroughly address the questions and recommendations posed by the city's residents. He highlighted key areas of concern, including network security, environmental sanitation, improving the quality of medical services, reforming administrative procedures, e-commerce, and stabilizing the market during the upcoming Lunar New Year. The Provincial Party Secretary also encouraged the relevant units within the province to take the public's opinions seriously. This feedback should be used to find solutions to challenges in their respective areas, ultimately enhancing the performance of their assigned responsibilities.

In discussing the major orientations for socio-economic development in Binh Duong province in the near future, the Provincial Party Secretary highlighted the significant challenge of transforming the economy. A key focus will be on improving technology, automating processes, implementing digital transformation, and utilizing artificial intelligence.

The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that in the planning phase, Binh Duong will develop an industrial, urban, and service belt along major transportation routes, including Ring Road 3, Ring Road 4, and the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway, as well as railway corridors. These development areas are intended to benefit not only the province but also the entire region and the country as a whole.

He also announced that starting in 2024, all industrial parks and clusters will only accept investors who meet ecological standards, prioritizing investment in sectors that utilize high technology. This initiative aims to achieve the goal of transitioning to a green economy, a circular economy, and a digital economy.

Additionally, the Provincial Party Secretary mentioned that the province is currently finalizing procedures to establish a Science Park covering approximately 220 hectares in the new city, along with reserving around 15 hectares for a dedicated information industrial park.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Loi emphasized the belief that "If the people are in agreement, everything will succeed." He urged the officials and citizens of Thu Dau Mot City to continue fostering a spirit of unity to overcome challenges and difficulties. He called for strong determination in reorganizing the political system to make it more streamlined, effective, and efficient; highlighted the importance of ensuring social security and welfare while continually improving the material and spiritual well-being of the community, contributing to developing Binh Duong province sustainably towards a smart, civilized, modern urban area and become a centrally-run city by 2030.
