Provincial People’s Committee Permanent Vice-Chairman Tran Van Nam receives delegation of British Consul General in HCM city

At the reception, Mr.Nam briefly informed the delegation about Binh Duong’s socio-economic development over the past time, especially the local FDI attraction. Binh Duong has so far absorbed around 2,200 enterprises from 34 territories and countries in the world with a total investment capital of more than US$20bln, including US$100mln from British enterprises. The province has further called for investors all over the world to make investment in industrial manufacture-services and industries which make products with high added value, use few laborers, do not cause environmental pollution…

Mr.Douglas Barnes said that Binh Duong’s socio-economic achievements over the past time made a strong impression on him while saying that this visit aimed to learn about investment opportunities in Binh Duong and boost cooperation between Britain and Vietnam in general, Britain and Binh Duong in particular.

The two sides also exchanged some issues on Binh Duong’s infrastructure construction, investment attraction and economic development. Mr.Nam said that Binh Duong has continued making investment in infrastructure in a synchronous and modern way to absorb more investors. Provincial leaders have always created favorable conditions for investors to work effectively.

He also hoped that through this visit, the delegation would learn about investment opportunities in Binh Duong and call for investors from Britain to make investment in the province.
