Yesterday morning (September 27), the 10th provincial People's Council held a conference to review results done in the last half tenure while setting out directions to further improve the quality of operations, promoting the effectiveness and efficiency of elected agencies.
Proposing solutions
At the conference, delegates focused on discussing, expressing opinions and proposing solutions that will contribute to further improving the quality and efficiency of provincial People's Council's activities in the coming time. Tran Thi Minh Hanh, Head of provincial People's Council’s Commission for Economics and State Budget said that over the past time, provincial People's Council commissions have well performed their functions and tasks of verifying draft resolutions, reports and projects before submitting them to the People's Council; supervising and making recommendations on issues within the field of responsibility while being responsible and reporting activities to the People's Council.

For provincial People's Council commissions further operating effectively, Mrs. Hanh proposed the Government to further consider improving institutions for the activities of the People's Council and the commissions of the People's Council, especially increasing more delegates with specialized activities for commissions, supplementing human resources to serve the activities of the People's Council and commissions of the People's Councils at all levels.
Nguyen Quoc Cuong, a member of Thu Dau Mot city’s deputy group under provincial People's Council shared about the organization of specialized supervision on resolving petitions from households related to Phu Thuan residential area project. According to Mr. Cuong, for supervision to be effective, in addition to well preparing contents and supervision steps, monitoring the implementation of post-monitoring results was extremely important and necessary.
“To perform the supervisory function well, in addition to complying with the provisions of law on functions, tasks, order, procedures and principles of conducting supervisory activities, leaders and members of the group must always raise a sense of responsibility and enthusiasm for the group’s activities in general and supervision activities in particular. When choosing a monitoring topic, the group needs to exchange with provincial People's Council Standing Committee about monitoring contents, programs and plans. Upon this, there will be closer harmonization and coordination, clearly defining contents on special subjects for monitoring to ensure supervision with focus, avoiding overlap in the supervision activities of provincial People's Council at all levels", Mr. Cuong said.
Tran Thanh Trong, a deputy of provincial People's Council shared that provincial People's Council Standing Committee has always paid attention to training and fostering knowledge and operational skills for delegates. This has created favorable conditions for provincial People's Council delegates in performing their tasks, especially the application of information technology in all activities; constantly innovated meeting activities as well as being flexible in methods of meeting voters...
Upholding effectiveness and efficiency
According to provincial People's Council Standing Committee, the organization of the mid-term preliminary conference aimed at promptly evaluating results achieved in the past half term while setting out directions to constantly improve the quality of operations, promoting the effectiveness and efficiency of elected agencies, contributing to successfully completing the targets of the Resolution of provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure.

Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council acknowledged and praised intellectual contributions, enthusiasm and high responsibility of provincial People's Council delegates, making an important contribution to the success of the activities of provincial People's Council in the past half term. Mr. Loc said that speeches by the delegates at the conference were very profound, putting forward solutions that contribute to improving the quality and efficiency of provincial People's Council's activities in the next time.
He also proposed provincial People's Council delegates to further improve activities meeting voters, choosing the form and subjects appropriate to the local actual situation; organize specialized meetings with voters; monitor and urge the settlement of recommendations from voters by functional agencies and improve the quality of supervision activities in resolving and answering voters' petitions.
Provincial People's Council agencies also need to further improve the quality of supervision activities with focus on completing thematic monitoring contents set out by provincial People's Council; harmonize and coordinate the effective implementation of activities of provincial People's Council commissions; improve the quality and efficiency of information technology application in activities.
