Provincial Red Cross awards scholarships to disadvantaged students in Thu Dau Mot City

To welcome the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Congress of Thu Dau Mot City, term 2024-2029, on April 17, the Provincial Red Cross Society awarded scholarships to excellent students having difficult circumstances in Thu Dau Mot City. Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly delegation; Provincial Party Standing Committee members; leader of Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, attended the ceremony. Tran Hoang Tham, former Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, was also present at the event.

At the program, the Provincial Red Cross awarded scholarships for the first quarter of 2024 to 104 students, each scholarship worth 3 million VND; People's Committee and Red Cross of Thu Dau Mot City awarded each child a gift worth 400,000 VND. In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thu Dau Mot City donated a support of 100 million VND to the City Office of Education and Training to award scholarships to poor students in the area.

It is known that this year, the Provincial Red Cross implemented a program to award scholarships to students haing difficult circumstances and at risk of dropping out of school throughout the province. Accordingly, the Provincial Red Cross will award 1,025 scholarships with a total value of 12.3 billion VND (each worth 12 million VND/year). In Thu Dau Mot City alone, 124 students received scholarships, with a total value of 1 billion 488 million VND.
