Practical deeds
Over the past time, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels promoted the campaign of “Studying and following Uncle Ho’s exemplary morals” among officials and members. And this actually upheld its efficiency, said Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Chairwoman of provincial Red Cross Society.

Officials and members of provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels studied and followed Uncle Ho’s teachings by practical deeds. Provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels also actively called on all people to join hands in taking care of disadvantaged people through the annual “Tet for the poor” program.
With the message of “Blood donation saves lives”, since 2015, the whole province has had a total of more than 120,000 collectives and families giving blood. As a result, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels collected 100,496 units of blood worth more than VND20billion. As many as 1,247 officials and members contributed working days, commodities and money with more than VND43.37billion to“charity kitchen” programs, offering help to poor patients at province-based hospitals…
So far, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have also mobilized organizations and individuals to build 219 “red cross” houses and upgrade 75 others for needy people with a total expense of more than VND13billion. Under the spirit of “Mutual affection, mutual love”, they over the past 5 years called on organizations and individuals to join hands in taking care of needy people via practical models, namely “Charity rice jar”, “Rice ATM”…
Further offering help to the poor
Mrs.Trinh said that provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels also actively mobilized officials, members, donors…to raise money and commodities worth more than VND4.55billion for the poor. Upon this fund, they held delegations to visit and support people affected by natural disasters and Covid-19 pandemic.
Along with social charity activities, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels paid more attention to public healthcare. The whole province has to date set up 625 first-aid points, including 12 licensed under the Circular of the Ministry of Health and 105 first-aid motorbike teams, offering first aid to 12,664 people. Since 2020, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have organized 150 stages providing free medical check-ups, medicine, eye and heart surgeries and gifts for more than 45,000 disadvantaged people with a total expense of more than VND10billion. They have also coordinated with clinics to give healthcare for millions of poor patients with a total expense of more than VND107.2billion.
The above humanitarian programs absorbed many organizations and individuals over the past time, creating high consensus among people from all strata and becoming a beauty in social life.
