Provincial Red Cross Society speeds up social charity activities

Provincial Red Cross Society, on January 15, held a conference to review its activities in 2013 and define tasks, orientations for 2014. 

Reportedly, provincial Red Cross Society last year spent nearly VND15bln on public healthcare with 450,000 people got help. Under the movement of “Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims”, the whole province mobilized VND11.8bln, offering help to 42,500 poor households, poor-near ones, the blind and Agent Orange victims. Especially, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels mobilized many resources to provide regular and unexpected support of VND7bln for nearly 28,000 cases…

For 2014’s main tasks, provincial Red Cross Society will further speed up social charity activities through the movements of “Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims”, “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address”…

Addressing the conference, Nguyen Thanh Liem, Member of the Standing Committee of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial Public Relations Committee spoke highly of achievements done by provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels while emphasizing that they needed to improve their operations, build up main forces, attach special importance to develop their activities at enterprises, agencies and schools; maintain and promote humanitarian models, well realize public healthcare and relief aid activities when natural disasters occur…
