Provincial responds to national week on clean water and environmental hygiene

On May 13, provincial People’s Committee held a meeting in response to the National Week Clean Water and Environmental Hygiene 2016 with the theme of “Clean water, environmental hygiene and adaptation to climate change” in North Tan Uyen district. Attending the event were Huynh Thanh Long, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Council and Mai Hung Dung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

Thanks to investment by the province, North Tan Uyen district has built a basic infrastructure system at requirements for the local development only after two years of establishment. The whole district has constructed 8 clean water supply works in communes of Thuong Tan, Tan My, Lac An, Tan Dinh…with the average capacity of 1,000 cu.m per day each. There are now more than 3,000 local households in use of clean water and the remaining 9,000 ones in use of well-waters. Reportedly, the district’s People’s Committee has continued developing the local clean water supply system…

Speaking at the meeting, Mr.Dung emphasized that climate change is directly affecting the lives of human beings and the development of the entire society. Protecting water sources and the environment is seen as a very major task of human beings. The meeting together the community’s activities protecting water sources and the environment will be promoted into an emulation movement for a green-clean and nice environment.
