Provincial Social Insurance determine to increase the percentage of students with health insurance coverage to 100% in 2022-2023 school year

On August 26, the Provincial Social Insurance held a conference to summarize health insurance of students in the school year 2021-2022 and health insurance work in new school year 2022-2023.

In the school year 2021-2022, the Provincial Social Insurance coordinated with educational institutions to promptly disseminate guidance documents of the Provincial People's Committee and district-level People's Committee, promptly propagated insurance policy among teachers and parents.

In the school year 2021-2022, the whole province had 394,436/400,031 students participating in health insurance, reaching a coverage rate of over 98.6%. In which, students paying health insurance premiums at school accounted for 95.34%; students receiving health insurance premiums paid by the State accounted for 3.27%.

Speaking at the conference, Le Minh Ly, Director of Provincial Social Insurance, answered questions of the delegates. She said Provincial Social Insurance was willing to arrange staff to coordinate with schools to propagate and collect health insurance premiums right from beginning of the 2022-2023 school year; the agency determined to increase the rate of health insurance coverage among students to 100% in the school year 2022-2023.
